The main stadium for these championships was the Estadio Nacional Flor Blanca.For political reasons,Cuba decided to boycott the event. Squash made its debut at the Central American and Caribbean Games.

Arena México is an indoor arena in Mexico City, Mexico, located in the Colonia Doctores neighborhood in the Cuauhtémoc borough. The arena is primarily used for professional wrestling, or lucha libre, shows promoted by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). The building is called the "cathedral of lucha libre". Arena México has a seating capacity of 16,500 when configured for professional wrestling or boxing events. The current building was completed in 1956, built by Salvador Lutteroth, owner of CMLL at the time and is the largest arena built specifically for wrestling. The building was used as the venue for the boxing competition at the 1968 Summer Olympics, and throughout the last half of the 20th century hosted several large boxing events.

He also won for first time in Puerto Rico boxing history a gold medal in the Super Heavyweight division. His brother Victor Bisbal was gold medallist in heavyweight in 2002, since 1954 no Puerto Rican had won gold medal in heavyweight.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Boxing at the 2020 Summer Olympics</span> Boxing events at the 2020 Summer Olympics

The boxing tournaments at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo took place from 24 July to 8 August 2021 at the Ryōgoku Kokugikan. Thirteen events were staged, the same number as in London in 2012 and Rio de Janeiro in 2016. However, for the first time since the London Games, the programme has been updated, with the number of men's events reduced by two and the number of women's events increased by the same number.

Boxing competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held from July 18 to 25 at the General Motors Centre in Oshawa. Due to naming rights the arena was known as the latter for the duration of the games. A total of thirteen boxing events will be held: ten for men and three for women.

The 24th Central American and Caribbean Games are scheduled to take place in 2023. They were planned to take place in Panama City, Panama, until the government announced on 24 July 2020 that it had decided to withdraw as the hosts as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Panama. Centro Caribe Sports had search for alternatives. In May 2021 San Salvador, El Salvador was chosen to replace Panama City as main host city,as due to infrastructure and schedule issues 7 sports were relocated to Santo Domingo, in Dominican Republic.

El Salvador competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the nation's twelfth appearance at the Summer Olympics.
