Brandon Brown (born 1988) is an American football executive who is the assistant general manager for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served in various scouting and executive roles for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2017 to 2021.
Brown played college football at Fordham University as a defensive back from 2006 to 2009. He began his career as a pro personnel intern for the New York Jets in 2012 and has also previously served at Boston College, Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles.
Born in Glen Cove, New York, Brown attended St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington, New York. He then attended and played college football at Fordham University as a defensive back from 2006 to 2009. While at Fordham University, Brown earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with a dual concentration in entrepreneurship and communications media management in 2010. [2] Brown then earned his Juris Doctor degree from Barry University School of Law in Orlando, Florida. [3]
In 2012, Brown began his NFL career and was hired by the New York Jets as a pro personnel intern under general manager Mike Tannenbaum. [4]
In 2013, Brown joined Boston College as a recruiting specialist. [5] In 2014, he was promoted to assistant director of player personnel. [6]
In 2015, Brown was hired by the Indianapolis Colts as a scouting assistant under general manager Ryan Grigson, before being promoted to advance scout in 2016. [7]
In 2017, Brown was hired by the Philadelphia Eagles as their assistant director of pro scouting under general manager Howie Roseman. That year, the Eagles went to Super Bowl LII and the team defeated the New England Patriots 41–33 to win their first Super Bowl title in franchise history. On June 13, 2019, Brown was promoted director of pro scouting. [8] On May 27, 2021, Brown was promoted to director of player personnel. [9]
On February 7, 2022, Brown was hired by the New York Giants as their assistant general manager under general manager Joe Schoen. [10] [11]
Phillip Savage Jr. is an American football executive, author and media personality, who currently serves as the Senior Football Advisor for the New York Jets. In 2019 he was the general manager for the Arizona Hotshots of the Alliance of American Football (AAF). He was the senior vice president and general manager of the Browns from 2005 to 2008. He served as director of player personnel for the Baltimore Ravens under general manager Ozzie Newsome, a former Browns' player and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, from 2003 to 2004. He was a scout for the Browns from 1993 to 1995. He was also the former general manager of the Cleveland Browns and the executive director for the Senior Bowl.Phil Savage also served as the color announcer for The Alabama Crimson Tide alongside Eli Gold for several years with the Crimson Tide Sports Network, and worked as a guest host, for Sirius XM Sports Radio for several years, before joining the NY Jets. Phil Savage was also on ESPN for several years as a guest host.
Thomas Heckert Jr. was an American football executive who served as the general manager for the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). In his 27-year career, Heckert was a part of 17 postseason campaigns, 11 division titles, eight conference championship games, three Super Bowl appearances and one Super Bowl Championship, while with the Denver Broncos.
Albert J. Smith was an American professional football scout and executive. He served as a part-time scout for several NFL and USFL teams before joining the Buffalo Bills in 1986, serving as a scout and executive for them for 14 years. With the Bills, the team won four AFC Championships. He joined the San Diego Chargers in 2001 as a director of pro personnel, and was promoted to general manager and executive vice president for them two years later. He stayed with the Chargers until being fired following the 2012 season. Smith's son, Kyle, is the assistant general manager of the Atlanta Falcons.
Charles Kenneth "Buddy" Nix is a former American football coach and executive. He was the general manager of the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL) from 2009 to 2013. Nix was a scout for the Bills from 1993 to 2000. He joined John Butler and A. J. Smith with the San Diego Chargers from 2001 to 2008 and returned to the Bills in 2009.
