Imperial County is a county located on the southeast border of the U.S. state of California. As of the 2020 census,the population was 179,702,making it the least populous county in Southern California. The county seat and largest city is El Centro. Imperial is the most recent California county to be established,as it was created in 1907 out of the eastern half of San Diego County.
Raúl Manuel Grijalva is an American politician and activist who has served as the United States representative for Arizona's 7th congressional district since 2023 and Arizona's 3rd congressional district from 2003 to 2023. He is a member of the Democratic Party. The district was numbered as the 7th from 2003 to 2013 and includes the western third of Tucson,part of Yuma and Nogales,and some peripheral parts of metro Phoenix. The Territory of Arizona,commonly known as the Arizona Territory,was a territory of the United States that existed from February 24,1863,until February 14,1912,when the remaining extent of the territory was admitted to the Union as the state of Arizona. It was created from the western half of the New Mexico Territory during the American Civil War.
The Arizona Territory,colloquially referred to as Confederate Arizona,was an organized incorporated territory of the Confederate States of America that existed from August 1,1861,to May 26,1865,when the Confederate States Army Trans-Mississippi Department,commanded by General Edmund Kirby Smith,surrendered at Shreveport,Louisiana. However,after the Battle of Glorieta Pass,the Confederates had to retreat from the territory,and by July 1862,effective Confederate control of the territory had ended. Delegates to the secession convention had voted in March 1861 to secede from the New Mexico Territory and the Union,and seek to join the Confederacy. It consisted of the portion of the New Mexico Territory south of the 34th parallel,including parts of the modern states of New Mexico and Arizona. The capital was Mesilla,along the southern border. The breakaway region overlapped Arizona Territory,established by the Union government in February 1863.
The United States Border Patrol (USBP) is a federal law enforcement agency under the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and is responsible for securing the borders of the United States. According to its website as of 2022,its mission is to "Protect the American people,safeguard our borders,and enhance the nation’s economic prosperity."

The Mexico–United States border wall is a series of vertical barriers along the Mexico–United States border intended to reduce illegal immigration to the United States from Mexico. The barrier is not a continuous structure but a series of obstructions variously classified as "fences" or "walls".
Raúl Héctor Castro was a Mexican American politician,diplomat and judge. In 1964,Castro was selected to be U.S. Ambassador to El Salvador,a position he held until 1968 when he was appointed U.S. Ambassador to Bolivia. In 1974,Castro was elected to serve as the 14th governor of Arizona,and resigned two years into his term to become U.S. Ambassador to Argentina. Prior to his entry into public service,Castro was a lawyer and a judge for Pima County,Arizona. He was a member of the Democratic Party.

Ignacio Ramos is a former United States Border Patrol Agent,who was convicted of shooting an unarmed illegal alien and drug smuggler on the United States–Mexico border. He was convicted of causing serious bodily injury,assault with a deadly weapon,discharge of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence,and a civil rights violation. On January 19,2009,his sentence was commuted by President Bush and he was released on February 17,2009. Ramos was granted a full pardon on December 22,2020,by President Donald Trump.
T.J. Bonner was the president of the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) until March 8,2011 when the delegates attending the NBPC convention elected a new president. This organization is a union that represents over 16,000 United States Border Patrol agents.

No More Deaths is an advocacy group based in Tucson and Phoenix,Arizona,United States. The group's stated goal is to end the series of fatalities of undocumented immigrants crossing the desert regions near the Mexico–United States border. Volunteers for the organization provide food,water,and medical aid to people crossing the US-Mexico border through the Arizona desert and offer humanitarian aid to people in Mexico who have been deported from the US.
The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) is a labor union established in 1967 that represents agents and support staff on the United States Border Patrol. It is an affiliate of the American Federation of Government Employees,and through that larger organization is a member of the AFL–CIO.

Rodney S. Scott served as the 24th chief of the United States Border Patrol from January 24,2020,to August 14,2021,in both the Trump and Biden administrations.
