[5] [6] Sproat was drafted by the New York Mets in the 3rd round of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft, but did not sign and returned to Florida. [7] However in 2023, Sproat somewhat struggled after pitching a 4.66 ERA. [8]

Professional career

Sproat was selected by the New York Mets in the 2nd round, with the 56th overall selection, of the 2023 Major League Baseball draft. On July 14, 2023, Sproat signed with the Mets. [9]

On July 2, 2024, he was announced to be on the roster for the 2024 All-Star Futures Game. [10]
