History

Brave Bird began in 2011 with the release of a split with the band Pity Sex. [1] In 2012, Brave Bird signed to Count Your Lucky Stars Records. [2] In 2013, Brave Bird released their first and only full-length album titled Maybe You, No One Else Worth It on Count Your Lucky Stars Records. [3] [4] [5] In 2014, Brave Bird released a 10" titled T Minus Grand Gesture on Count Your Lucky Stars Records. [6] [7]

Robert Clark Seger is a retired American singer, songwriter, and musician. As a locally successful Detroit-area artist, he performed and recorded as Bob Seger and the Last Heard and the Bob Seger System throughout the 1960s, breaking through with his first album, Ramblin' Gamblin' Man in 1969. By the early 1970s, he had dropped the 'System' from his recordings and continued to strive for broader success with various other bands. In 1973, he put together the Silver Bullet Band, with a group of Detroit-area musicians, with whom he became most successful on the national level with the album Live Bullet (1976), recorded live with the Silver Bullet Band in 1975 at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan. In 1976, he achieved a national breakout with the studio album Night Moves. On his studio albums, he also worked extensively with the Alabama-based Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, which appeared on several of Seger's best-selling singles and albums.

Count Your Lucky Stars Records is an American independent record label based in Fenton, Michigan. The label has released albums by bands such as Empire! Empire!, Joie De Vivre, Annabel, Moving Mountains, Benton Falls, Snowing, Into It. Over It. and CSTVT. It is involved in the emo revival movement and is run by Keith and Cathy Latinen of Empire! Empire!.

Empire! Empire! was an American emo band from Michigan. It was formed in 2006 originally as a solo project of band member Keith Latinen. The band's music is most often described as emotional indie rock reminiscent of '90s emo bands such as Mineral and American Football. The band's first release was in 2007 with an EP titled When The Sea Became A Giant. The band released a full-length album, What It Takes To Move Forward, in 2009. The band is signed to Count Your Lucky Stars Records and has released albums on a number of other labels, such as strictly no capital letters (UK), Topshelf Records, Stiff Slack (Japan), and Hobbledehoy Record Co (Australia). The band released their second album You Will Eventually Be Forgotten on August 19, 2014. On February 16, 2016, the band announced their final tour before their breakup on their official Facebook page.

Pity Sex are an American alternative rock band from Ann Arbor, Michigan. The band formed in 2011, and released two studio albums – Feast of Love (2013) and White Hot Moon (2016) – prior to their split. The band combined elements of indie rock, shoegaze, dream pop and noise rock in their music, and were described by Pitchfork as "post-coital pop-punk". The band announced its reunion in 2022, as part of the Sound & Fury festival line-up.

You Will Eventually Be Forgotten is the second and final LP by Fenton, Michigan emo band Empire! Empire!, released on August 19, 2014, on Count Your Lucky Stars Records and Topshelf Records. Pre-orders began on July 22, 2014, through the Count Your Lucky Stars store and the Topshelf Records store. The band has made "A Keepsake" and "If It's Bad News, It Can Wait" available for streaming ahead of the release date. Mineral's Chris Simpson and Braid's Bob Nanna have made guest appearances on the LP.

Dads was an American indie rock band from Piscataway, New Jersey, composed of guitarist/vocalist Scott Scharinger and drummer/vocalist John Bradley. The band relocated to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2014. In 2020, Vulture named their song "Shit Twins" as one of the 100 greatest emo songs of all time.
