Bree Amer (born 17 August 1982 [ citation needed ]) is an Australian television personality.
Amer was a contestant on Big Brother Australia 2004 from the Gold Coast, in Queensland, and the first housemate of Big Brother Australia to re-enter the House when, hours after her eviction, it was discovered the votes were miscalculated. [1] She was returned to the House the night after, and a few days after that, in a special eviction show, the actual person to have received the most votes, Wesley Dening, was evicted.
Having worked in theatre restaurants, Amer co-hosted the Big Brother Friday Night Live games in the 2005 series of Big Brother Australia with Mike Goldman and fellow 2004 series Housemate, Ryan Fitzgerald. The same hosting team went on to front Friday Night Games in early 2006, and later continued as hosts of Big Brother Friday Night Live in the 2007 and 2008 series of Big Brother. Amer appeared in the May 2006 issue of Ralph magazine. [ citation needed ] She also has appeared briefly in an advertisement for Donut King. She was a presenter for Channel 10's New Year's Eve 2006 broadcast in Sydney. [ citation needed ]
She co-hosted the Australian show Download along with Ryan Fitzgerald and Mike Goldman. In May 2011 Sydney-based author, Amanda Cole, issued Who Needs Prince Charming?, a self-realisation book for women, which collated contributions from 35 Australian women including Amer, Bianca Dye, Camilla Franks, Kathryn Eisman, Bessie Bardot, Molly Contogeorge, Tania Zaetta and Cindy Pan. On 29 July 2006, The Sydney Morning Herald reported that a doctor noticed a lump on Amer's neck while watching a broadcast of Friday Night Live , and urged her to see a doctor. [3] Amer has since undergone two surgeries for removal of thyroid cancer, and also had radiation therapy. However, she is now healthy again. [4] Bree married TV producer Evan Wilkes on 7 November 2015 and together they have had two sons, Archie who was stillborn in April 2015, and Hunter who was born February 2017. [5]

Ryan James Fitzgerald is an Australian radio personality, television presenter, comedian and former Australian rules footballer. After being drafted from the South Adelaide Football Club, he made his Australian Football League debut for Sydney in 2000, before being traded to Adelaide, where he played eight games in 2002. Fitzgerald later appeared in Big Brother Australia 2004, beginning a wider media career in television on Channel 10's Saturday night AFL show Before The Game.

Big Brother 2003, also known as Big Brother 3, was the third season of the Australian reality television series Big Brother. The season lasted 86 days, starting on 27 April 2003 and ending on 21 July 2003. The season was the most complicated to date with housemates starting in two separate houses - a "round house" and a "square house". Housemate Benjamin Archbold was sent in first and spent the entire first day by himself. Other housemates were progressively admitted. On Night 22, all Housemates were locked into their respective bedrooms and a construction crew spent the night merging the two houses and revealing the hidden swimming pool and kitchen that had been in between the two smaller houses. Housemates were released into their new combined house on the morning of Day 23. Later in the day, a bathroom linking the two bedrooms was revealed.

The series started on 8 May 2005, with housemates going into the House the day before, and finished on 15 August 2005, lasting 101 days. The theme for this season was "single, sexy and competitive". Auditions for housemates were held in March 2005. In a departure from usual procedure, candidates were not required to send in videos of themselves as had been the case for prior auditions. Instead, the producers toured major Australian cities and conducted interviews. They searched for sexy singles that were willing to have sexual relations on camera. Promos for the show suggested that Big Brother would be different this year, and phrases such as "Assume Nothing, Expect Anything", "Let's Play" and "Think Again" were used throughout the series, especially during Opening Night. The winner announced on the finale that was watched by 2.282 million Australian viewers.

The series began on 22 April 2006 and finished on 31 July 2006; a duration of 101 days. In the auditions, which had been held in November and December 2005, producers asked for contestants who were "smart, strong, and looking for a fight". The Launch was aired on the evening of 23 April 2006. Fifteen housemates initially entered the house on Day 0, with the addition of three Intruder housemates entering the Big Brother House in Week 4, another three Intruders in Week 9, and two replacement housemates entering in Week 12. On Day 100, Jamie was declared the winner of Big Brother 2006, with Camilla the runner-up. At the time it was the closest winning margin in any Australian series of the show, later beaten by Series 7 in 2007.

Despite a drop in ratings compared to previous seasons, and a number of controversies, the then Big Brother executive producer Kris Noble considers the year's season a success. At the end of this season's finale broadcast 30 July 2007, it was announced by host Gretel Killeen that Big Brother would be returning for an eighth season in 2008. In the finale Aleisha Cowcher was announced winner of Big Brother Australia 2007. She won by the closest winning margin ever in the Australian version. The news the following day reported a margin of 51% versus 49% – a difference of 65 votes. This was the last season hosted by Gretel Killeen.

It is the second season of the show to air on the network after it picked up the series in 2012, following a four-year absence. Sonia Kruger continued to host the show, with Mike Goldman continuing as narrator.
