Brent Laes (born 18 April 2000) is a Belgian professional footballer who plays for Lierse Kempenzonen in the Challenger Pro League. [1]

Career

Laes made his professional debut for OH Leuven on 23 August 2019 in a Belgian Cup match against Wetteren. Some months later in February 2020, he also played his first league match for the club, 4–1 away loss against Virton.

In January 2021, he was loaned out to Belgian First Division B club Lierse Kempenzonen. [2] At the end of the season, he made a permanent move to the club. [3]

The 2021–22 season of the Belgian First Division B began in August 2021 and ended in April 2022, with Westerlo winning the title by a considerable margin over RWDM, the latter losing the promotion play-off and hence not promoted together with Westerlo. The 2022–23 Belgian Cup, called the Croky Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 68th season of Belgium's annual football cup competition. The competition began on 24 July 2022 and ended with the final on 30 April 2023. The winners of the competition will qualify for the 2023–24 UEFA Europa League play-off round.
