Brett Moyer (born January 1, 1984) of Ridley Park, Pennsylvania is a retired professional lacrosse player who played for the Philadelphia Wings in the National Lacrosse League, and the Philadelphia Barrage in the Major League Lacrosse. Moyer was a three-time All American at Hofstra University. Moyer is currently the head varsity lacrosse coach at IMG Academy.

Collegiate career

Moyer attended Hofstra University [1] where he was a starter for four years, and a three-time All-American. While at Hofsta, he was named CAA Defender of the Year twice (in 2005 and 2006). In 2006, as a senior, he was First-Team All-American, and appeared in the 2006 USILA North-South Senior All-Star Game, where he was named the game's Most Valuable Player. With Moyer anchoring a defense which gave up less than 7 goals a game in 2006, Hofstra won 17 games in a row, reached #2 in the national polls and reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament. Moyer was also a member of the 2003 U.S. Men's Under-19 Team International Lacrosse Federation World Champions. [3]

Professional career

Moyer attended Ridley High School (outside of Philadelphia) where he was teammates with Bill McGlone and became an All American. The pair won two straight Pennsylvania State Titles and were both Offensive and Defensive MVPs two years in a row respectively.

After being acquired in a trade prior to the 2006 season, Moyer was part of a defensive unit that helped the Philadelphia Barrage win the MLL championship in 2006, and 2007. [4]

The Philadelphia Wings acquired Moyer as a free agent prior to the 2008 NLL season [2]

Acting career

Moyer acted in all the major lacrosse scenes in A Warrior's Heart in 2011. [5]

Coaching career

Moyer coached the Merchant Marine Mariners for several years before joining IMG Academy in 2021. [6]

Resch returned to coaching as the head coach of the Philadelphia Barrage of Major League Lacrosse. In 1979, Huntley was honored with the McLaughlin Award, which is presented annually to the nation's most outstanding college lacrosse midfielder. His son, Kevin Huntley, was also an All-American at Johns Hopkins. Huntley was also the first ever head coach for the Toronto Nationals. David Huntley died December 18, 2017, after suffering a heart attack while attending a box lacrosse game in Delray Beach, Florida.

Doug Shanahan is a lacrosse coach and player. He has been inducted into four Halls of Fame and has won a number of other trophies and accolades. He was twice a member of Team USA, and also won MVP of the world games. He attended Hofstra University, playing both football and lacrosse in college.

Brett Queener is an American lacrosse player. He is currently a member of the Chrome Lacrosse Club in the Premier Lacrosse League and was selected by the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League. He never played for them. Queener is best known as a field lacrosse goaltender, however he plays an offensive position in indoor box lacrosse. Queener is currently the head coach of the Community School of Naples varsity lacrosse team.

Peter Trombino is a retired lacrosse attackman who played professional field lacrosse in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) from 2007 to 2008. He starred as a member of the Princeton Tigers men's lacrosse team from 2004 through 2007. He earned Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors, two United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American honorable mention recognitions and three All-Ivy League selections. During his college career, Princeton earned two Ivy League championships and three NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship tournament invitations. In high school, he won a state championship in lacrosse and two league championships in American football.

Bill Miller was a three-time first-team All-American NCAA lacrosse player at Hobart College from 1988 to 1991.

The Drexel Dragons men's lacrosse team represents Drexel University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's lacrosse. Drexel currently competes as a member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) and plays its home games at Vidas Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Drexel made its first NCAA tournament appearance in 2014, and a second NCAA tournament appearance in 2021.
