Brian Thomas McConnell (born January 21, 1950) is a former American football linebacker who played for the Buffalo Bills and the Houston Oilers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Michigan State University. [1] [2]

McConnell played two years in Peddie School in Hightstown, New Jersey, mostly as an offensive lineman, becoming team captain, earning high school All-American honors, and graduating in 1969. He attended Michigan State University, graduating in 1973. [3] He was drafted in the seventh round to the Buffalo Bills [4] where he played tight end, and was traded to the Houston Oilers [3] where he would play 7 games that season as a linebacker. [5] In 1974 he was slated to report to the New England Patriots camp, but walked out as part of the strike that year. [6] He finished his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins in 1977. [3]

Post-football career

After leaving football, McConnell got his MBA at Stanford University. [3] He serves as the vice-president of the NFL Alumni Association, Northern California Chapter. [7] [8] He is a partner in HPN Neurologic, a company that works on concussion diagnostics and treatment. [9] [10] In 2018, he posted that he survived a transplant to deal with liver cancer. [11]

The Comeback or The Choke was a National Football League (NFL) game held on January 3, 1993, as part of the 1992–93 NFL playoffs. The Buffalo Bills overcame a 35–3 deficit to defeat the visiting Houston Oilers 41–38 in overtime and set the then-record for largest comeback in NFL history. Though surpassed by the Minnesota Vikings in 2022, the Bills' 32-point comeback remains the largest comeback in postseason history and the second largest overall. Rick Steven Dennison is an American football coach and former linebacker who is currently the senior offensive assistant for the New Orleans Saints. He was the offensive line coach and run game coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL) from 2019-2020. An assistant in the NFL since 1995, he served as offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos, Houston Texans (2010–2013), and Buffalo Bills (2017), and served as quarterbacks coach for the Baltimore Ravens in 2014. He was the special teams coach for the Super Bowl Champion Broncos in 1997 and 1998. A linebacker who spent his entire NFL playing career in Denver from 1982 to 1990, he appeared in Super Bowls XXI, XXII, and XXIV.

William Keith Bostic is an American former professional football player who was a safety for seven seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Steven Daniel Hendrickson was an American professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). Hendrickson attended Napa High School where he was an outstanding varsity player during all four years at the school. His No. 30 jersey remains the only one ever retired by the school. He played college football for the California Golden Bears where he graduated with a major in history. He was named defensive player of the game at the 1988 Blue–Gray Football Classic and was drafted in the sixth round of the 1989 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He played seven NFL seasons for the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, San Diego Chargers, Houston Oilers and Philadelphia Eagles. Hendrickson was a member of the San Francisco 49ers when they won their fourth Super Bowl XXIV on January 28, 1990. During his professional career, he played various positions despite his relatively small stature. With the Chargers Hendrickson was used as a short-yardage, goal-line running back, despite being a defensive player.
