Brian Panowich is an American author and journalist. [1]

Biography

Panowich grew up an "Army brat" in Europe before moving to East Georgia. [1] Before becoming a writer he was a firefighter in Augusta, Georgia. [2]

He wrote the novels Bull Mountain, Like Lions, and Hard Cash Valley. [2] [3]

Panowich won the 2016 International Thriller Writers Award for the best first novel and the Pat Conroy Southern Book Prize for the best crime novel. [4] He is also a LA Times Book Prize finalist and the 2020 Georgia Author of the year.

In 2015 ITV Studios optioned Bull Mountain for adaptation into a TV series. [5] El País called his work about adventures in the mountains of Georgia "Country Noir". [6] Il Giornale also wrote about his work. [7] The Huffington Post interviewed him in 2015. [8] Atlanta Magazine called Bull Mountain a brilliant debut novel. [3]

Dequantes Devontay Lamar, better known by his stage name Rich Homie Quan, is an American rapper. He was previously signed to labels T.I.G. Entertainment and Motown, and is an independent artist as of 2021. Quan experienced commercial success with the 2013 single "Type of Way", and the 2015 single "Flex ". In addition, Quan joined the Cash Money Records spin-off project, Rich Gang in 2014, which had successful singles such as "Lifestyle" and the mixtape Rich Gang: Tha Tour Pt. 1 (2014). Rich Homie Quan was influenced by dirty south rap, including Jeezy, Gucci Mane, T.I., Lil Boosie, Lil Wayne, Kilo Ali, Outkast, and Goodie Mob. Quan's debut studio album Rich as in Spirit was released on March 16, 2018, and debuted at number thirty-two on the US Billboard 200.

Julia Lester Dillon (1871—1959) was a teacher from Georgia, who because of the death of her husband and her hearing loss, trained in landscape architecture. She was one of the first women to write extensively about gardening in the south and ran a regularly featured column which appeared in several newspapers and magazines. She designed spaces to enhance post offices for the U.S. Department of the Treasury and created the Memorial Park in Sumter, South Carolina. Based on her experience, she then served as Sumter Superintendent of Parks and Trees for twenty years. Dillon remained in Sumter after retiring. She continued writing until 1954, despite losing both her hearing and her sight. Julia Lester Dillon died in Sumter on March 24, 1959. She is buried in Magnolia Cemetery in Augusta Georgia. She was inscribed upon the Georgia Women of Achievement roster in 2003.
