Brian Pounds is a singer-songwriter based in Austin, Texas. He was featured on NBC's reality TV show The Voice in 2013. [1] [2] [3] Pounds has performed alongside country legend Blake Shelton and singer-songwriter Sam Hunt. [4]

On September 2, 2014, Pounds released his new EP, Strikes and Gutters. [5]

The five-song album features original songs as well as a cover of Shane Bartell's "Sunday Dress.” [6]

Strikes and Gutters is the follow-up to Pounds’ debut full-length album, After You’re Gone.

Reviews of Strikes and Gutters which came out, in 2010, drew comparisons between Pounds and James Taylor. [7] [8]

Pounds wrote "Jesus, Don’t Let Me Die (On My Feet)" in the middle of a disastrous two-week gig at a rundown casino in Nevada. [6] The EP’s opening track, "Someday Maybe Carolina" written with fellow The Voice Season-5 competitor Austin Jenckes, currently has more than 9,000 views on YouTube.

In July 2015, the Calgary Herald compared Pounds to singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt. [9]

Colon eventually decided to part ways with Universal Republic in 2012.

Red River Blue is the sixth studio album by American country music artist Blake Shelton. It was released on July 12, 2011, via Warner Bros. Records, and is Shelton's inaugural No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, debuting at the top spot on July 30, 2011. Four singles were released from the album: "Honey Bee", "God Gave Me You", "Drink on It", and "Over". All four singles peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard charts for Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay. "God Gave Me You" is a cover, written and originally recorded by Christian rock singer Dave Barnes. Red River Blue's title track is a duet with Shelton's then-wife and fellow country singer Miranda Lambert.

"Just a Fool" is a duet recorded by American singer songwriters Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton for Aguilera's seventh studio album, Lotus (2012). The track was written by Claude Kelly, Wayne Hector, and its producer Steve Robson. "Just a Fool" was sent to contemporary hit and hot adult contemporary radio stations in the United States by RCA Records as the second and final single from the album on December 4, 2012.
