Brian L. White (born February 7, 1976 in Winchester, Massachusetts) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman who played two games in the National Hockey League with the Colorado Avalanche.

Playing career

White was selected 268th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, He had a four-year collegiate career at the University of Maine before signing with the Colorado Avalanche and playing 2 games in the NHL in the 1998–99 NHL season. Spending the next two years with Hershey Bears in the minor leagues, White was then signed by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on August 14, 2001. He was however not presented another chance to play in the NHL and after the 2003–04 season he left for the Iserlohn Roosters of the DEL.

Joseph Steven Sakic is a Canadian professional ice hockey executive and former player. He played his entire 21-year National Hockey League (NHL) career with the Quebec Nordiques/Colorado Avalanche franchise. Named captain of the team in 1992, Sakic is regarded as one of the greatest team leaders in league history and was able to consistently motivate his team to play at a winning level. Nicknamed "Mr. Clutch", Sakic led the Avalanche to Stanley Cup titles in 1996 and 2001, being named the most valuable player of the 1996 playoffs, and honoured as the MVP of the NHL in 2001 by the hockey writers and his fellow players.
