Brian C. Williams is an American football coach who is the defensive coordinator and defensive line coach for the Maryland.

College career

Williams started his career at Albany State earning a scholarship before transferring to Florida A&M. [1]

Coaching career

Williams took his first coaching job at Rickards High School in Tallahassee, Florida, as the defensive coordinator for three years. He then returned to his former high school as the defensive coordinator for Miami Carol City High School where he would stay for seven years. Williams' next stop would come as a defensive coordinator for one year at Northeast High School. Williams would the get his final high school coaching job as the defensive coordinator for Godby High School for three years. Williams would then get his first college coaching job as a defensive analyst for Florida State where he would win a national championship and coach at for two years. He would then head to Georgia as the Player Relations Director for one year. Williams would then get his first collegite position coaching job as the linebackers coach for UAB. [2] Williams would then by hired by the outside linebackers coach at Maryland. [3] [4] Then after one year as the outside linebackers coach for Maryland, Williams would become the defensive line coach. [1] Williams would then get promoted to be the team's co-defensive coordinator. [5] [6] William's would then be promoted again after one year, this time being promoted as the team's full-time defensive coordinator. [7] [8]

Chizik's 2010 Auburn Tigers football team completed a 14–0 season with a victory over Oregon in the BCS National Championship Game, and quarterback Cam Newton won the Heisman Trophy. Chizik played college football at the University of Florida in 1981 for head coach Charley Pell.

Peter Sirmon is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted in the 2000 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans and played for them for his entire career from 2000 to 2006. Sirmon played college football at the University of Oregon, and high school football at Walla Walla High School, where he played quarterback and safety.

Prior to that, he was defensive coordinator at the University of Louisville. He served as the head football coach at Wayne State University from 1992 to 1994, and Georgia Southern University in 2006, compiling a career college football record of 19–25. VanGorder was the defensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL) from 2008 to 2011, and also worked in the same capacity for the University of Georgia (2001–2004) and Auburn University (2012). VanGorder is married to the former Ruth Jones. His children are Molloy, Morgan, Mack, Montgomery, Malone, and Freddie.

Claude Neil Callaway is an American college football coach and former player who is the offensive line coach for the Michigan Panthers of the United States Football League (USFL). Callaway served as the head football coach at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) from 2007 to 2011, compiling a record of 18–42. A 1974 graduate of Central High School in Macon, Georgia, he played collegiately at the University of Alabama for coach Bear Bryant as a lineman and linebacker before graduating in 1978.

Reginald Wayne Herring is an American football coach and former player and most recently the linebackers coach for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). A former linebacker at Florida State University, he began his coaching career in 1981. He has now coached for 36 years across college and the NFL. Herring arrived in Denver to coach linebackers in 2015 after previous stops in the league with Chicago (2014), Houston and Dallas (2008–10). Herring has coached nine linebackers who have made Pro Bowl appearances during their careers, including outside linebackers DeMarcus Ware (9), Mario Williams (4), and Connor Barwin (1), and inside linebackers Zach Thomas (7), Keith Brooking (5), Lance Briggs (7), Brian Cushing (1), Sean Lee (2) and DeMeco Ryans (2). Herring also served as the interim head football coach for the University of Arkansas in the 2008 Cotton Bowl Classic.

The 2022 Maryland Terrapins football team represented the University of Maryland during the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Terrapins played their home games at SECU Stadium in College Park, Maryland, and competed in the Big Ten Conference in the East Division. The team was coached by fourth-year head coach Mike Locksley and finished in fourth place in the East Division. The Terrapins defeated NC State in the Duke's Mayo Bowl to achieve their first back-to-back bowl game wins since 2002-03.
