Brick Haley (born May 16, 1966) is an American football coach and former player. He is the defensive line coach for Purdue University, a position he has held since 2023.

Coaching career

Early career

Previously, Haley was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Baylor (1999–2001) after coaching outside linebackers for one season each at Clemson University ^[1] (1998), and at Houston (1997). The defensive line coach at Troy State from 1994–96, he was promoted to defensive coordinator following the 1996 campaign before leaving for Houston. Haley coached the defensive line at Austin Peay from 1991-93 after starting his college coaching career as a graduate assistant at Arkansas in 1990. His first coaching job was at Enterprise (Ala.) High School in 1989.

Georgia Tech

After leaving Baylor as a defensive coordinator,^[2] Haley spent two years (2002–2003) as Georgia Tech's linebackers coach where he helped the Yellow Jackets to a pair of postseason bowl games. In 2003, he coached a first-team all-ACC performer, after Tech's trio of starting linebackers finished the 2002 season as the team's top-three tacklers.

Mississippi State

Prior to his stint in the NFL, Haley spent three years as the defensive line coach at Mississippi State from 2004-06. At Mississippi State, Haley helped improve a Bulldogs defense that finished 41st in the nation in 2006 after finishing 113th a year before his arrival. Under Haley's watch, Bulldogs defensive end Titus Brown developed into a second-team all-SEC selection after leading the team and ranking fifth in the conference in sacks in 2006. In 2005, Haley coached the SEC leader in sacks (third in NCAA) and tackles for loss (fourth in NCAA) in Willie Evans.

Chicago Bears

Haley was the defensive line coach of the Chicago Bears of the NFL. In two years in the NFL with the Bears, Haley coached a defensive line that helped Chicago rank No. 5 in the league in rushing yards allowed per game in 2008. The Bears finished sixth in the NFL in sacks in 2007 with defensive tackle Tommie Harris earning a spot in the Pro Bowl that year.

Personal life

The Gadsden, Ala., native played linebacker at Alabama A&M from 1984 to 1988 and was inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005. He received Alabama A&M's Inspiration Award in 1987, and was named football MVP for the 1988 season. He and his wife, Tina, have three sons: Adrian, A.J. and Jeremy.

Cooks was selected by the Baltimore Colts as the second overall pick in the 1982 NFL draft. He played from 1982 to 1991 for the Colts, New York Giants, and Cleveland Browns. He was a member of the Giants when they defeated the Buffalo Bills 20–19 in Super Bowl XXV. Cooks played college football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Phillip Snow is an American football coach who was the senior defensive analyst for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers from 2020 to 2022.

The 2006 Georgia Bulldogs football team completed the season with a 9–4 record. The Bulldogs had an SEC record of 4–4. Despite losses to unranked Kentucky and Vanderbilt, Georgia salvaged its season by beating two ranked teams in the last two games of the season: #5 Auburn and #15 Georgia Tech. A victory over #14 Virginia Tech in the 2006 Chick-fil-A Bowl gave the Georgia Bulldogs three consecutive victories over top 25 teams. This was the team's sixth season under the guidance of head coach Mark Richt.

The 2007 Alabama Crimson Tide football team represented the University of Alabama for the 2007 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Tide was led by its new head coach Nick Saban, the former head coach of rival LSU. Despite a strong 6–2 start, they finished the season by losing four of their final five games. The team closed the regular season at 6–6 and lost for a sixth-straight time to rival Auburn. The Tide defeated Colorado in the 2007 Independence Bowl 30–24 to finish the season at a 7–6. After an investigation by the NCAA, five wins by Alabama were vacated from the 2007 season, adjusting official NCAA records to show the Crimson Tide as having a 2–6 record for the season.

Eric Charles Henderson is an American football coach who is the co-defensive coordinator, defensive line coach, and run game coordinator for the USC Trojans of the Big Ten Conference (NCAA). He previously served as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Rams.

Mark Snyder is an American football coach. He previously was the defensive line and linebackers coach for the Orlando Guardians of the XFL linebackers coach for the Houston Gamblers of the United States Football League (USFL). Snyder served as the head football coach at Marshall University from 2005 to 2009 after a four-year tenure as defensive coordinator at Ohio State University.

Reginald Wayne Herring is an American football coach and former player and most recently the linebackers coach for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). A former linebacker at Florida State University, he began his coaching career in 1981. He has now coached for 36 years across college and the NFL. Herring arrived in Denver to coach linebackers in 2015 after previous stops in the league with Chicago (2014), Houston and Dallas (2008–10). Herring has coached nine linebackers who have made Pro Bowl appearances during their careers, including outside linebackers DeMarcus Ware (9), Mario Williams (4), and Connor Barwin (1), and inside linebackers Zach Thomas (7), Keith Brooking (5), Lance Briggs (7), Brian Cushing (1), Sean Lee (2) and DeMeco Ryans (2). Herring also served as the interim head football coach for the University of Arkansas in the 2008 Cotton Bowl Classic.

Lemanski Hall is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Houston/Tennessee Oilers, Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings. Most recently he was the defensive ends coach for Clemson University. Hall played college football at the University of Alabama.

Marcus Freeman is an American football coach and former linebacker who is the head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He previously served as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Notre Dame in 2021. Freeman has also previously served as an assistant coach at the University of Cincinnati, Purdue University, Kent State University, and Ohio State University.

He served as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Pennsylvania State University from 2022 to 2023 and as the head football coach at the University of Miami from 2019 to 2021. Pernell McPhee is a former American football linebacker. He is currently an assistant coach at the University of Michigan. He was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL draft out of Mississippi State. He has also played for the Chicago Bears and Washington Redskins.

Marvin Dale Jones is an American football coach and former player. He was most recently the defensive coordinator for Appalachian State. He served in various capacities for Appalachian State (1996–2022), including three years as defensive coordinator (2010–2012). Jones previously worked as a defensive coordinator for Georgia Military College (1992–1996) and the Parma Panthers (1990) of the Italian Football League (IFL).

The 2017 Alabama Crimson Tide football team represented the University of Alabama during the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. This season marked the Crimson Tide's 123rd overall season, its 84th as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and its 26th within the SEC Western Division. They played their home games at Bryant–Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and were led by eleventh-year head coach Nick Saban.
