The Sanremo Music Festival, officially the Italian Song Festival, is the most popular Italian song contest and awards ceremony, held annually in the city of Sanremo, Liguria. It is the longest-running annual TV music competition in the world on a national level and it is also the basis and inspiration for the annual Eurovision Song Contest.

The Sanremo Music Festival 2011, officially the 61st Italian Song Festival, was the 61st annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia, during the five nights between 15 February 2011 and 19 February 2011. The artistic director of the show was Gianmarco Mazzi. Broadcast by Rai 1, the festival was presented by Gianni Morandi with Paolo Kessisoglu, Luca Bizzarri, Belén Rodríguez and Elisabetta Canalis.

It was held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia, during the five nights between 17 February 2009 and 21 February 2009, and it was broadcast by Rai 1. Tha last night of the show was also broadcast live by RTV21 in Albania, RTK in Kosovo and by RSI in Switzerland.
Annalisa Scarrone, better known as simply Annalisa or Nali, is an Italian singer-songwriter, and record producer. After being part of two bands, Elaphe Guttata and leNoire, she became famous after participating in the tenth edition of the talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi in 2010–2011, where she finished in second place. His winner's single, "The Reason Why", debuted atop the Italian Singles Chart, and was later certified double platinum by the Federation of the Italian Music Industry. Fragola competed both in the 65th and 66th Sanremo Music Festival, performing the songs "Siamo uguali" and "Infinite volte", and placing tenth and fifth, respectively. Claudio Baglioni was the artistic director of the contest, and co-hosted it with Virginia Raffaele and Claudio Bisio. 24 entries competed in one section only. Mahmood emerged as the winner of the festival with his song "Soldi".
