Brisbane Hockey Association (BHA) is the governing body for the sport of men's hockey in Brisbane, Australia. It is responsible for the administration of men's and boy's competitions, representative teams, officials and the financial position of the sport. It's located in the Queensland State Hockey Centre in Colmslie, a suburb south of Brisbane. [1]

The Brisbane Cricket Ground, commonly known as the Gabba, is a major sports stadium in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Australia. The nickname Gabba derives from the suburb of Woolloongabba, in which it is located. Arthur Beetson

Arthur Henry "Artie" Beetson OAM was an Australian rugby league footballer and coach. He represented Australia, New South Wales and Queensland all between 1964 to 1981. His main position was at prop. Beetson became the first Indigenous Australian to captain Australia in any sport and is frequently cited as the best post-war forward in Australian rugby league history. He also had an extensive coaching career, spanning the 1970s to the 1990s, coaching Australia, Queensland, Eastern Suburbs, Redcliffe Dolphins and the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.

Jamie Dwyer Australian field hockey player

Jamie Dwyer is an Australian field hockey player. He currently plays for YMCC Coastal City Hockey Club in the Melville Toyota League in Perth, Western Australia. He did play for the Queensland Blades in the Australian Hockey League. He debuted for Australia as a junior player in 1995, and for the senior side in 2001. He has played over 350 matches for Australia and scored over 220 goals. He has represented Australia at the 2004 Summer Olympics where he won a gold medal and the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Olympics where Australia won a bronze medals. He has also represented Australia at the 2006 Commonwealth Games where he won a gold medal and the 2010 Commonwealth Games where he also won gold. He has won silver medals at the 2002 Men's Hockey World Cup and the 2006 Men's Hockey World Cup. He won a gold medal at the 2010 Men's Hockey World Cup.

The Brisbane and District Women's Rugby League is one of the main Women's rugby league competitions in Australia.

The University of Queensland Hockey Club (UQHC) is a men's field hockey club competing in the Brisbane Hockey Association. UQHC was established in 1924 and is one of the oldest and strongest clubs within the Brisbane Hockey Association. UQHC has won one A-grade premiership, in 1964, and a host of InterVarsity Hockey competitions.

Dylan Wotherspoon is an Australian International Field Hockey player. His normal position is forward. He won a gold medal in the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
