The Union Jack, or Union Flag, is the national flag of the United Kingdom. The flag also has official status in Canada, by parliamentary resolution, where it is known as the Royal Union Flag. Additionally, it is used as an official flag in some of the smaller British overseas territories. The Union Flag also appears in the canton of the flags of several nations and territories that are former British possessions or dominions, as well as the state flag of Hawaii.
The flag of Scotland consists of a white saltire defacing a blue field. The Saltire, rather than the Royal Standard of Scotland, is the correct flag for all private individuals and corporate bodies to fly. It is also, where possible, flown from Scottish Government buildings every day from 8:00 am until sunset, with certain exceptions.

Tag rugby, or flag rugby, is a non-contact team game in which each player wears a belt that has two velcro tags attached to it, or shorts with velcro patches. The mode of play is based on rugby league with many similarities to touch football, although tag rugby is often deemed as a closer simulation of the full contact codes of rugby than touch. Attacking players attempt to dodge, evade and pass a rugby ball while defenders attempt to prevent them scoring by "tagging" – pulling a velcro attached tag from the ball carrier, rather than a full contact tackle. Tag rugby is used in development and training by both rugby league and rugby union communities.
Civil Service Strollers Football Club are a senior non-league football team from Edinburgh, Scotland currently playing in the Lowland Football League. The Strollers play their home games at Christie Gillies Park. Their home strip colours are red, with white shorts and red socks.

The Royal Banner of the Royal Arms of Scotland, also known as the Royal Banner of Scotland, or more commonly the Lion Rampant of Scotland, and historically as the Royal Standard of Scotland, or Banner of the King of Scots, is the Royal Banner of Scotland, and historically, the Royal Standard of the Kingdom of Scotland. Used historically by the Scottish monarchs, the banner differs from Scotland's national flag, the Saltire, in that its correct use is restricted by an Act of the Parliament of Scotland to only a few Great Officers of State who officially represent the Monarchy in Scotland. It is also used in an official capacity at royal residences in Scotland when the Head of State is not present.
The East Kilbride Pirates are a British American Football team based in Glasgow, Scotland. They currently play in the British American Football Association's National Leagues NFC 1 North conference and are both the most successful and the oldest surviving American Football team in Scotland having been formed in 1985. The club were 2011 British Champions and are eleven-time Conference champions. They currently play home games at Braidholm, home of Glasgow Hutchesons Aloysians RFC.
The British American Football Association (BAFA) is the national governing body for the sport of American football in the United Kingdom. It is affiliated to the European Federation of American Football (EFAF). In 2010, they formed the BAFA Community Leagues as the country's primary competition for both contact and flag football.
The association football tournament at the 2012 Summer Olympics was held from 25 July to 11 August, and was the only sport to begin before the official opening day of the Olympic Games, two days before the opening ceremony. It was also the only sport to be held at multiple venues outside London, with Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Coventry and Cardiff all hosting matches. The finals were played at Wembley Stadium. Associations affiliated with FIFA were invited to send their senior women's and men's under-23 national teams to participate; men's teams were allowed to augment their squads with three players over the age of 23. Five hundred and four football players competed for two sets of gold medals.
The Dundee Hurricanes are an amateur American football team based in Dundee, Scotland. They are currently a non-league club, affiliated with the governing association BAFA.
The Highland Wildcats is the brand of the Inverness Blitz Academy of American Football which is a registered charity with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator. The Inverness Blitz started in 1999 and since then has developed many teams and programmes in the area. In 2006 the Blitz gained charity status with the goals to increase public participation in sport and improve citizenship and community spirit through the use of American football. It was also at this time that the Blitz Development Project was established which saw the organisation employ a full-time development officer and run many programmes in primary schools, secondary schools and in volunteer & club development. The Highland Wildcats was established by the Inverness Blitz in 2002 as a 14- to 16-year-old contact team. In 2008 the brand of the Highland Wildcats was expanded to cover all of the regional teams that represented the Inverness Blitz at a national level. During this their time in the National League the Highland Wildcats have won 4 Scottish Championships, 1 UK Flag Football Championship and 1 Youth UK Championship. The Highland Wildcats currently have a Youth team (14-17) and Junior team (16-19) competing in the British American Football Association National League (BAFANL). As well as this the Wildcats work in the community in schools and to develop volunteers. Notable current projects include Positive Life Pathways, the Highland Academy Community League and the Development Cadet Camps.
The Great Britain Olympic football team is the men's football team that represents the United Kingdom at the Summer Olympic Games. The team is organised by the English Football Association (FA) as the footballing representative of the British Olympic Association. The team only competes in the Olympic Games. In other international football tournaments, the Home Nations of the United Kingdom are represented by their own national teams, a situation which pre-dated the establishment of a GB team.
