Brocklands Adventure Park was a family run leisure park situated near Bude in Cornwall.
The park was established in 1977 [2] originally as a Tearoom and shop but quickly grew in the 1980s with the addition of a large car park and 15 in (381 mm) gauge railway with a diesel driven train. The expansion included ponds, slides and a pony ride track. In 1987 additions were made including bouncy castle, trampolines, bumper boats and quad bikes. The park became known as Pixieland Fun Park. In 1997 a steam train replaced the diesel train and in 2000 the name of the park was changed to Brocklands Adventure Park.
The park itself was split into two parts with the main road dividing the rides to the south and the indoor activities, kids outdoor activities and cafe to the north of the road. The indoor multi-activity centre was known ‘Undercover Playland' and the rides era was known as ‘Upper Valley Adventureland'. [3] There was also a 4 lane bowling alley known as 'Brock Bowl".
The park closed after in 2007 season because the owners Sue and Dennis Vanstone retired. The diesel locomotive, known as 'Pioneer' was given to Sherwood Forest Railway and the steam locomotive was returned to the Exmoor Steam Railway before being sold to the Lappa Valley Railway in 2015. [4] Another park in the area, Killarney Springs, closed the year prior.
The Markeaton Park Light Railway was a 15 in gauge light railway line located within Markeaton Park in the city of Derby, Derbyshire, England. The railway was first opened in 1989, extended in 1996, and closed down in September 2016.

Perrygrove Railway is a minimum-gauge railway of 15 in gauge. It is located at Perrygrove Farm in the Forest of Dean, near Coleford, Gloucestershire, England. Trains travel at frequent intervals on a round trip of 1+1⁄2 miles (2.4 km) between four stations. Passengers can ride on the train to use activities including a Treetop Adventure, a covered picnic and play area at Foxy Hollow, an Indoor Village with secret passages, and a den-building area in the woods.
St Blazey engine shed is located in Par, Cornwall, United Kingdom, although it is named after the adjacent village of St Blazey. It was built in 1874 as the headquarters of the Cornwall Minerals Railway but for many years was a depot of the Great Western Railway. It features the John Street Roundhouse, a preserved locomotive roundhouse which is home to the Toronto Railway Museum, Steam Whistle Brewing, and the restaurant and entertainment complex The Rec Room. The park is also home to a collection of trains, the former Canadian Pacific Railway Don Station, and the Roundhouse Park Miniature Railway. Day Out with Thomas is a trade name, licensed by Mattel for tourist events that take place on heritage railways and feature one or more engines decorated to look like characters from the popular long-running classic British children's television series, Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends. The events are held around the world in Australia, Canada, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America. They include a full-day of activities for families in addition to rides on trains pulled by the iconic engine, Thomas.
Plowman's Railroad operates the collection of 7+1⁄4 in gauge American outline steam and diesel locomotives from the former Dobwalls Adventure Park and is located at Plowmans Garden Nursery & Plant Centre Ltd, West Parley, Ferndown, Dorset. The rolling stock has since been sold and shipped to Australia and the railway is now run by the West Parley Miniature Engineering Society. This railway has now closed following the complete collapse of the Garden Centre.
The Sherwood Forest Railway (SFR) is a 15 in (381 mm) gauge light railway running through the old site of the Sherwood Forest Farm Park in Nottinghamshire, England. The railway acquired its first two steam locomotives in 1998, began construction of permanent way in 1999, and opened to passengers in 2000. The railway runs along the 'flood dykes' of the early nineteenth-century irrigation system built by the Duke of Portland. The railway is still operated by its original two steam locomotives, 'Smokey Joe' and 'Pet'. The line has a light electric locomotive named 'Anne' used principally on works trains, and a light track inspection/works rail truck, 'Lottie Lister'. Also on site is the diesel locomotive, 'Pioneer', built in the 1940s, bought from Brocklands Adventure Park and is currently undergoing restoration and only in use on special events. Also a diesel-hydraulic locomotive has been acquired to help out. A further steam locomotive, working name 'Doodlebug', is currently under construction away from the line.

The Wells Harbour Railway was a 10+1⁄4 in gauge railway that ran at Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk, England. It was 1,200 yards (1,100 m) long, running between Wells Harbour and Pinewoods. The line operated for 45 years, from 1976 to 2021, when it was closed and replaced with a bus service.
