Broken Dog is an English, London-based experimental rock band, started in 1994.

Broken Dog were formed by Martine Roberts and Clive Painter in London in the summer of 1994 and disbanded in 2004 following their fifth album Harmonia. [1] [2] Influenced by American artists such as the Grifters, Swell, Pavement, Smog, Will Oldham and Guided By Voices, their name comes from an unpublished Paul Verlaine libretto. [3] They were signed to Big Cat (UK) Records in 1995 and released their self-titled debut album [4] in 1996 when John Peel began playing their recordings and invited them to record the first of four Peel sessions. [5]

Both Martine Roberts and Clive Painter have been known for collaborating with other bands such as Tram, Monograph and The Real Tuesday Weld.

Tram was a British musical duo composed of Paul Anderson and Nick Avery. Part of the slowcore movement, Tram was recognized for lush instrumentation played at a very slow pace. Tram recorded three albums, all of which were well received by the music press. Their first album, Heavy Black Frame, was produced by multi-instrumentalist Clive Painter, and features him and his partner in Broken Dog, Martine Roberts, alongside Placebo (band) keyboardist Bill Lloyd. Heavy Black Frame was released on the Piao! label in the UK, and Jetset Records in USA. The subsequent UK albums appeared on Setanta Records. In January 2009 Paul Anderson and Clive Painter formed a new band called the 99 Call, and performed their first show in Rimini, Italy in July 2009. The performance was in part a celebration of the tenth anniversary of the release of Heavy Black Frame.

The 99 Call British band

The 99 Call are a British band formed in 2009 by Paul Anderson, previously from Tram and Clive Painter from Broken Dog. They performed their first show in Rimini, Italy in July 2009 playing some new material and songs from the Tram album Heavy Black Frame in celebration of its tenth anniversary. The 99 Call have recorded soundtracks for several short films. They subsequently released their first single called 'Last Days' on Setanta Records in 2010. Followed by a mini album called 'Spanish Flies' on Moonpalace Records which featured Martin Medina on piano and trumpet.

Trixies Big Red Motorbike

Trixie's Big Red Motorbike was an indie pop band formed on the Isle of Wight, United Kingdom, in 1981. They released two singles, one EP and one flexi disc. A vinyl compilation album of their music called The Intimate Sound of Trixie’s Big Red Motorbike was released by Accident Records in 1995. A retrospective album called All Day Long in Bliss was released on Lobby Lud Records in February of 2012. They reformed that same year.

Beatnik Filmstars were a British Lo-fi pop group formed in Bristol in 1990. After splitting up in 1998, going on to side projects Kyoko and Bluebear, they re-formed in 2004, releasing several more albums before splitting again in 2008.

Marion Coutts is a British sculptor, photographer, filmmaker, author, and musician, known for her work as an installation artist and her decade as frontwoman for the band Dog Faced Hermans. In 2014 she published her critically acclaimed memoir, The Iceberg.
