Brooke Lauren (born September 12, 1984) is a film and television producer, as well as an actress and photographer.

Biography

Lauren was born in Buffalo, New York, was raised in Orchard Park, New York and spent a great deal of her childhood in Aspen, Colorado. She attended Full Sail University and studied directing at UCLA, during which she began her filmmaking career.

Lauren dreamt of being in the entertainment industry at an early age. She has appeared in several print ads and television commercials. In 2008 she participated in the Miss Colorado USA pageant placing "first runner up" and received the "most photogenic" award. In 2009 she placed "second runner up".

In 2010 she starred in VH1's series "Secrets of Aspen", a docu-soap which depicted the lives of an elite social circle of woman who reside Aspen, Colorado. This was the launch of her producing career. Lauren collaborated with High Noon Entertainment and Vh1's executives to develop a story and character based on her real life.

Lauren spends a great amount of time traveling the world to shoot photography. Her photography premiered in episode 103 on "Secrets of Aspen".

Currently she resides in Los Angeles, but has been known to make special social appearances in Miami Beach, New York and Aspen.

Personal life

Lauren volunteers her time to provide aid to woman and children living in poverty.

Christie Lee Woods is an American actress, model and beauty pageant titleholder. in 1996 she was the first Texan to capture the Miss Teen USA crown.

The Miss South Carolina competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of South Carolina in the Miss America pageant. The pageant was first held in Myrtle Beach and moved to Greenville starting in 1958 and remained in that city until the 1990s. Spartanburg hosted the pageant in a few different venues until new leadership took over the organization and moved the pageant to Columbia, SC in 2011. The pageant was televised since the 1960s until the 1998 pageant. Televising was resumed with the 2000 pageant through 2006. The pageant returned to television in 2014.

The Miss Black USA Scholarship Pageant is a national scholarship competition for young women of African descent that was founded in 1986 by Karen Arrington. While Ms. Arrington has a long-standing history of hosting a national Miss Black USA Scholarship Pageant, her system has not been exclusive in doing so consecutively. As indicated by the chart below, there have been some years where "no pageant was held" by Ms. Arrington's State of Maryland organized non-profit, for example in years such as 1998, 1999 and 2000. However, similar to Miss USA and Miss America both being national systems, there have been other non-profits to host national scholarship pageants to celebrate Black women, with documented queens.

Kelley Elizabeth Johnson is an American nurse, TV host and beauty pageant titleholder. In addition to being a Chief Nurse Advocate, she is also a doctoral student, keynote speaker and national spokeswoman. Kelly Johnson was also crowned Miss Colorado 2015 and placing 2nd runner-up at Miss America 2016. Johnson later won Miss California USA 2018. She placed in the top 10 at Miss USA 2018.

Miss America 2017, the 90th Miss America pageant, was held at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Sunday, September 11, 2016. The event was broadcast by ABC in the United States, the first in the network's newest agreement to carry the pageant until 2019, with Dick Clark Productions producing the ceremony.

The Miss America 2020 competition was held on Thursday, December 19, 2019. This was the 93rd Miss America pageant/competition, though the Miss America Organization celebrated its 99th anniversary in 2019. This discrepancy is due to national pageants not being held from 1928 to 1932 or in 1934 because of financial problems associated with the Great Depression.

Miss USA 2022 was the 71st Miss USA pageant, held at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada on 3 October 2022.
