Brownswood Recordings is a London-based independent record label founded by Gilles Peterson in 2006. The label has released an eclectic range of music, reflecting Peterson's diverse musical taste.

The roster includes Ben Westbeech, Ghostpoet, José James, Skinny Pelembe, Mala, The Heritage Orchestra, Anushka, Gang Colours, Daymé Arocena, Yussef Kamaal, Shabaka and the Ancestors, Zara McFarlane. [1]

The Worldwide Awards, formerly known as the Worldwide Winner Awards, are an annual awards celebration curated by radio DJ Gilles Peterson and currently hosted by Worldwide FM and Radio 6 which celebrates up-and-coming musicians on an international scale. The ceremony evolved out of an annual segment on Peterson's BBC Radio 1 show Worldwide during which listeners would vote on a list of Worldwide Winners.

Caroline Peyton was an American singer, songwriter and actor. Peyton was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi, and grew up in Charleston, West Virginia. She recorded two albums in the 1970s, 1972's Mock Up and 1977's Intuition, which were reissued in 2009 by Chicago archival label The Numero Group. Later in her career, she appeared on Broadway and in theatrical productions. She also voiced characters in four Disney animated films in the 1990s. She released her first self-written solo album on September 9, 2014. Recorded in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Mark Nevers at Beech House Recording, the 10-song record is titled Homeseeker's Paradise. The record features playing by Nashville musicians including guitarist William Tyler and multi-instrumentalist Chris Scruggs. Nashville Scene writer Skip Anderson wrote a preview of the record.

Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam is the debut album of British singer, songwriter and musician Ghostpoet. It was released worldwide on 4 February 2011 on Gilles Peterson's label Brownswood Recordings. The album was shortlisted for the 2011 Mercury Prize, but lost to Let England Shake by PJ Harvey.

Leron Thomas is an American jazz trumpeter, composer and vocalist noted for his musical style as a "masterful genre-bender". Born in Houston, Texas Thomas attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. He moved to New York City to study Jazz and Contemporary Music at The New School university. There he studied alongside many notable contemporaries and began working professionally prior to his graduation in 2003. He went the 2019 Grammys awards ceremony and watched his fellow classmate win. Thomas is also a rapper under the alias Pan Amsterdam.

Zara McFarlane is a British jazz/soul singer and songwriter, based in East London, England. In October 2014, McFarlane was awarded the title of "Best Jazz Act" at the MOBO Awards. She has had four albums released by Brownswood Recordings.

Ronni Vindahl is a Danish music producer, composer, re-mixer and musician. He is co-founder of the Copenhagen-based music collective Boom Clap Bachelors, and has worked with artists such as MØ, Avicii, and Kendrick Lamar. Vindahl occasionally also writes and records under his own name, and released his first solo album in 2012. He is Grammy Awards-nominated.

Shabaka Hutchings is a British jazz musician, composer and bandleader. He leads the band Shabaka and the Ancestors, and used to lead Sons of Kemet before its dissolution in 2022. He is also a member of The Comet Is Coming, performing under the stage name King Shabaka. Hutchings has played saxophone and other wind instruments with the Sun Ra Arkestra, Andre 3000, Floating Points, Mulatu Astatke, Polar Bear, Melt Yourself Down, Heliocentrics, London Brew and Zed-U.

<i>Ancient Mechanisms</i> 2015 studio album by LV and Tigran Hamasyan

Ancient Mechanisms is the 4th album by LV, which was created in collaboration with Tigran Hamasyan and was released 9 October 2015. LV is a duo of Si Williams and Will Horrocks, who met when they were both studying at University College London. Critics said that Tigran and LV did not gel well together, leaving the music sounding disjointed. LV and Tigran first met when they were performing at a Maida Vale session in 2012 for Gilles Peterson's final BBC Radio 1 show.

Worldwide FM is a freeform internet radio service that highlights "underground music, culture and stories from around the globe." Founded in 2016 by DJ Gilles Peterson, longtime host of the BBC Radio program Worldwide, the platform features a rotating roster of international radio DJs and programming. As of 2020, Worldwide FM has a monthly audience of more than 400,000 listeners. In September 2022, it was announced broadcasting would be paused at the end of October 2022, something that never happened.
