Bruce Edward McLeod (30 January 1940 – 1 May 1996) was a New Zealand rugby union player. A hooker, McLeod represented Counties at a provincial level, and was a member of the New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, from 1964 to 1970. He played 46 matches for the All Blacks including 24 internationals. [1]

The Taranaki rugby league team are New Zealand rugby league team that represents the Taranaki Rugby League. They currently compete in the NZRL National Competition and the Rugby League Cup.

In 1977 the British Lions rugby union team toured New Zealand. The Lions played 26 matches, including four internationals against the All Blacks. They lost the series against the All Blacks by three matches to one. The team played as the British Isles in their internationals against the All Blacks and the British Lions for the non-international games. Unlike all previous tours to New Zealand, the Lions did not play any matches in Australia, though one game was also played at Buckhurst Park, Suva, against Fiji.

Taranaki Rugby League is the local sporting body responsible for the administration of Rugby league in the Taranaki region of New Zealand. The TRL are represented by the Taranaki rugby league team. They are in the Mid-Central zone along with the Manawatu Rugby League.

In 1978 the New Zealand national rugby union team, the All Blacks, toured Britain and Ireland. They were the eighth All Black team to undertake a full tour of the countries and became the first to achieve a Grand Slam by beating the national teams of Ireland, Wales, England and Scotland. Bruce Eric McPhail was a New Zealand rugby union player. A wing, McPhail represented Mid Canterbury, Canterbury, and Nelson at a provincial level, and was a member of the New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, in 1959. He played two matches for the All Blacks, both of them tests against the touring British Lions.

Scott James McLeod is a New Zealand rugby union coach and former second-five eighth and centre. McLeod played 10 tests for the All Blacks from 1996 to 1998, and played domestic rugby for Waikato, Waikato Chiefs, and Toshiba Brave Lupus. McLeod is currently the assistant coach of the All Blacks. He replaced Wayne Smith as defence coach for the All Blacks after their third Bledisloe test against Australia on 22 October 2017.

The Counties Manukau Rugby Football Union (CMRFU) is the governing body of rugby union in Southern Auckland and the Franklin district of New Zealand. Nicknamed the Steelers, their colours are red, white, and black horizontal bands. The Steelers moniker is a reference to the Glenbrook steel factory, which is in the area. The union is based in Pukekohe, and plays at Navigation Homes Stadium.

Bruce McLeod Gemmell is a former New Zealand rugby union player. He was educated at Auckland Grammar School where he was a member of the 1st XV between 1966 and 1968. A halfback, Gemmell represented Auckland at a provincial level, and was a member of the New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, on their 1974 tour of Australia and Fiji. He played six matches on that tour including two internationals. Gemmell retired from rugby in 1978 because of an ongoing head injury.
