Bruno Ricardo Sobreiro Correia (born 16 November 1977) is a former Portuguese racing driver. He is currently the safety car driver for FIA Formula E and shares duties with Karl Reindler as the Medical Car driver for Formula One.
After a career in karting Correia started his autoracing career in 1994 in his domestic Formula Ford championship. Correia competed in the Formula Ford 1600 class. The Portuguese driver won the title in the last season the class was contested. [1] The following season Correia moved into the Spanish Formula Renault Championship. The Portuguese driver won the Junior championship in 1995 and the overall championship in 1996. For 1997 Correia moved to the United States of America to race in the Skip Barber Formula Dodge. He also competed in Barber Dodge Pro Series races. After not being able to secure a drive for 1998 Correia built a successful hotel at the beach in Cumbuco, Brazil. [2]
Correia returned to the racing circuits in 2005 for a single season. He achieved the runner up position in the Brazilian Supertouring Championship. After working as a driver trainer for several years Correia was appointed as the official World Touring Car Championship safety car driver. After the 2009 FIA WTCC Race of France in which racing driver Franz Engstler hit the inexperienced safety car drivers (employed by the French ASN, rather than the FIA) the FIA decide to employ a permanent safety car driver. After his first test race weekend at Brno Circuit, Correia was appointed as the safety car driver for the WTCC and its support classes. [3]
For 2012 Correia also joined the European Touring Car Cup as the official safety car driver. [4] For 2014 the Portuguese driver was appointed as the official safety car driver for the inaugural FIA Formula E championship. He drove the electric powered BMW i8 at every event. [5] On 7 October 2021 it was announced that Correia would serve as the Formula One medical car driver at the 2021 Turkish Grand Prix standing in for Alan van der Merwe who failed at COVID-19 test prior to that event. Gabriele Tarquini is an Italian former racing driver. He participated in 78 Formula One Grands Prix, debuting on 3 May 1987. He scored a single championship point, and holds the record for the most failed attempts to qualify. He has subsequently raced successfully in Touring Cars, winning the BTCC in 1994, the ETCC in 2003 the WTCC in 2009 and the WTCR in 2018.
Tiago Vagaroso da Costa Monteiro is a Portuguese professional racing driver currently competing in the World Touring Car Cup, driving a Honda Civic TCR for Engstler Motorsport. He competed in Formula One between 2005 and 2006 for the Jordan Grand Prix, Midland and Spyker MF1 teams – all different iterations of the same team as it was bought by new owners during a two-year stint as part of the Formula One paddock. He is the only Portuguese driver to have scored a Formula One podium finish, a 3rd place behind the two Ferrari drivers during the controversial 2005 United States Grand Prix.

The FIA World Touring Car Championship was an international touring car championship promoted by Eurosport Events and sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). It has had several different incarnations, including a single season in 1987 as the World Touring Car Championship and most recently a world championship (WTCC) that has run between 2005 and 2017. Following the 2017 season, an agreement was reached for the FIA WTCC to become FIA WTCR and use the TCR technical regulations.

The Pau Grand Prix is a motor race held in Pau, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department of southwestern France. The FIA WTCR Race of Portugal is a motor racing event held in Portugal as part of the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) series, and formerly the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). First run in 2007, the event last took place at the Autódromo do Estoril in June 2021; previously it has been held at the Circuito Internacional de Vila Real, the Circuito da Boavista, and the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. The event will return to Circuito Internacional de Vila Real in 2022.

The TCR International Series was an international touring car championship. The championship was promoted by World Sporting Consulting (WSC), founded by former World Touring Car Championship manager Marcello Lotti. It was marketed as a cost-effective spin-off of the WTCC, targeted at C-segment hatchbacks production-based touring cars. The title TCR follows the naming convention now used by the FIA to classify the cars that compete in touring car racing, with TC1 referring to the top tier as used by the FIA WTCC and TC2 referring to the legacy cars which principally compete in the FIA ETCC.
The 2017 FIA World Touring Car Championship was a motor racing competition organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile for Super 2000 Cars. It was the fourteenth and last season of the FIA World Touring Car Championship, and the thirteenth since the series was revived in 2005.
