Bryce Hackford is an American musician based in Brooklyn.
In 2008, Hackford co-founded the post-punk band Behavior. Formed from longstanding connections in Long Island's music scene, the band consisted of Hackford (vocals/guitar/synth/effects), Ian Campbell (bass), and Khira Jordan (drums). The band was characterized by its fusion of experimentalism with pop sensibilities. [1]
In 2013, Hackford released his debut solo album Fair. [2] [3] The album is based on material he developed in Europe in 2011 where by using a small field recorder, a synth, a sampler and a microphone, he recorded improvised songs that would later became the basis for the album. [4] The album featured "Another Fantasy", described by Pitchfork as “a supremely grimy wall-pounder”. [5]
In 2013, Hackford was the sound designer for M Lamar's Surveillance Punishment and The Black Psyche, an examination of "the sexual politics surrounding the surveillance of the black male body". [6]
In 2014, Hackford collaborated with dancer and choreographer Brittany Bailey on a series of performances titled “Light Dance with Girl” at Judson Church, NADA Art Fair, and the Williamsburg Art and Historical Center. [7]
In 2014, Hackford collaborated with experimental cellist Oliver Coates on a split EP which featured a Coates cover of "Another Fantasy" “pulling all manner of gnarled and ragged sounds” from his cello, and “looping and multi-tracking them into a chugging, almost-dancefloor-ready track”. [8]
In December 2014, Hackford released the mini-album Amnesia on PRAH Recordings. The label described it as “raw, sampladelic tracks and different explorations of repetition”. [9] [10] [11]
In 2015, Hackford released the album Behind. [12]
In 2015, Hackford made four remixes for the album release of In Remembrance by Delia Gonzalez. [13] [14] [15] On April 12, 2015, Hackford, Alice Cohen, Adrian Knight, and David Lackner joined Gonzalez at the Museum of Modern Art to play a live score for four of her ballet films. [16]
In April 2018, Hackford and Brian Allen Simon performed as part of "Commend Here" a run of “spontaneous, unique and responsive” performances which paired like-minded artists for one-off shows at Commend, a space of the Brooklyn-based label RVNG Intl. [17]
In 2018, Hackford performed with Delia Gonzalez at the List Visual Arts Center at MIT. The performance, which featured music from her 2017 album Horse Follows Darkness, was part of the exhibition List Projects: Delia Gonzalez which displayed drawings, sculpture, and a sound work. [18] [19]
In 2020, Hackford released Safe (Exits). It was described by Pitchfork as an "appealingly loose, rangy record" that's "suited to his magpie tendencies". [20]
In 2021, a remix by Peak Wifi, a project between Hackford and Parquet Courts member Austin Brown, was featured on the B-side of Parquet Courts physical-only single titled Plant Life. [21]
Hackford is currently enrolled in the Bard College MFA program in Music/Sound. [22]
LCD Soundsystem is an American electronic rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2002 by James Murphy, co-founder of DFA Records. The band comprises Murphy, Nancy Whang, Pat Mahoney (drums), Tyler Pope, Al Doyle, Matt Thornley, and Korey Richey. They have been signed to DFA since their inception, and also signed to Columbia Records in 2016.
M83 are a French electronic music group formed in Antibes in 1999. Initially the duo of multi-instrumentalists Nicolas Fromageau and Anthony Gonzalez, Fromageau parted ways shortly after touring for their second album Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts. Gonzalez remains the sole constant member of the project, as the primary songwriter and lead vocalist.

"The Boxer" is a song recorded by English electronic music duo the Chemical Brothers for their fifth studio album Push the Button (2005). It served as the album's third single in the United Kingdom and Europe, released by Virgin Records and Freestyle Dust, and as the second single in the United States via Astralwerks. The song is a psychedelic pop track which features The Charlatans' lead singer Tim Burgess on vocals and as a co-writer. This is the second collaboration between Burgess and the duo, following "Life is Sweet", which was released 10 years earlier.
James Jeremiah Murphy is an American musician, DJ, singer, songwriter, and record producer. His most well-known musical project is LCD Soundsystem, which first gained attention with its single "Losing My Edge" in 2002 before releasing its eponymous debut album in February 2005 to critical acclaim and top 20 success in the UK. LCD Soundsystem's second and third studio albums, Sound of Silver (2007) and This Is Happening (2010) respectively, were praised by several music review outlets. Both albums have also reached the top 50 in the Billboard 200.
Sven Väth is a German DJ and electronic music producer. He is a three-time DJ Awards winner, and his career in electronic music spans over 30 years. The single "Electrica Salsa" with OFF launched his career in 1986. Referred to as "Papa Sven" by his fans, Sven Väth has made his mark in the music community by being one of Germany's pop stars in the nineties, running two night clubs in Germany, and starting his own company Cocoon, which encompasses a booking agency, record label, and a branch for events. He is recognized for cultivating the underground electronic music scene not just in Germany but in Ibiza as well, with his own night at Amnesia for eighteen years and after-parties at creative locations around the island. Sven Väth is a major proponent of vinyl, using only two decks and a mixer for his extensive DJ sets, his longest set having been 30 hours.

Cody Critcheloe, known by the stage name SSION, is a multifaceted audiovisual artist embodying music, video directing, painting, and live performance. SSION has released several records and has collaborated with Róisín Murphy, Sky Ferreira, Ariel Pink, and Hood By Air. He has directed music videos for Robyn, Perfume Genius, Yves Tumor, Santigold, and King Princess, and has exhibited artwork internationally. SSION is used as a moniker for Critcheloe's multimedia practice. He lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
This Is Happening is the third studio album by American rock band LCD Soundsystem. It was released first on May 17, 2010, jointly through DFA and Virgin Records in the United States and Parlophone elsewhere. It was recorded over the course of 2009 and early 2010 in the Mansion recording studio in Los Angeles. The first single, "Pow Pow", was released in April 2010, with a music video directed by Spike Jonze. The album is dedicated to Jerry Fuchs (1974–2009), who performed drums live with the band on occasion, as well as having a big part in associated DFA acts.
Gavilán Rayna Russom is an American electronic music producer, musician and DJ. Russom has released music under various names, including Black Leotard Front, Black Meteoric Star and The Crystal Ark, as well as collaborative work with Delia Gonzalez and the band LCD Soundsystem. In addition to her musical work, Russom is also a visual artist and a writer. Russom lives in New York City.
Liam Sylvester McLean, better known by his stage name Joker, is a British record producer who creates music in genres such as dubstep and grime and was known for creating the subgenre "purple sound". He was named "2009 king of bass music" by XLR8R magazine and was featured in the September 2009 issue of The Wire magazine. He has contributed to two releases produced by the London-based record company Hyperdub. He also runs his own label known as Kapsize Recordings. His debut album, The Vision, was released on 31 October 2011 through independent label 4AD. His sophomore LP, The Mainframe, was released on 16 February 2015 through his own Kapsize imprint.

EX is the sixth studio album by Canadian techno musician Richie Hawtin under his Plastikman moniker, the first studio album to be released under that name in 11 years, the last studio album being 2003's Closer. It was recorded in a single session on 16 November 2013 at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City. The album was announced on the Mute Records website as having a digital release on 10 June 2014 with a physical release following on the 15 July 2015. The album branding echoes the large LED obelisk used for visual effects during the live performance. It peaked at number 31 on the UK Independent Albums Chart.
Junk is the seventh studio album by French electronic music band M83, released on 8 April 2016 on Naïve Records in France and Mute Records in the United States. It is the first album released by the band in a half-decade since 2011's Hurry Up, We're Dreaming and the first release since Digital Shades Vol. 1 (2007) without longtime vocalist and keyboardist Morgan Kibby. Electric Lady Sessions is a live in-studio album by American rock band LCD Soundsystem. It was released on February 8, 2019, through DFA and Columbia Records. It was recorded over a three-day span at Electric Lady Studios in Manhattan, New York, during their American Dream Tour. The session featured a twelve-song setlist that included covers of songs by Heaven 17, Chic, and the Human League.
