Budislav is a municipality and village in Svitavy District in the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 500 inhabitants.
Budislav lies approximately 23 kilometres (14 mi) west of Svitavy, 39 km (24 mi) south-east of Pardubice, and 130 km (81 mi) east of Prague.
The village was first mentioned in documents in 1313.
In the mid-18th century, while non-catholic religious practice was banned, multiple arrests of people from Budislav and surrounding villages where made with accusations such as "hiding heretical books and adhering to the evangelical sect in everything". [2] After the issuance of the Patent of Toleration in 1781 by Emperor Joseph II, a significant share of the village came forward as protestant. In 1806, evangelicals founded their own cemetery, in Na Klínku.
