Soga, or Lusoga, is a Bantu language spoken in Uganda. It is the native language of the Soga people or Basoga of the Busoga region of southern Uganda. With over three million speakers, it is one of the major languages of Uganda, after English, Swahili, and Luganda. However, it is largely restricted to the Busoga region, which is mainly within the natural boundaries of Lake Victoria to the south, Lake Kyoga to the north, the Nile river to the west and the Mpologoma (Lion) river to the east of Namutumba district. It is tonal.
Tooro is one of the five traditional kingdoms located within the borders of Uganda. The current Omukama of Toro is King Rukidi IV. The people native to the kingdom are the Batooro, and their language is likewise called Rutooro.

The Isebantu Kyabazinga or Kyabazinga of Busoga is the ruler of the Kingdom of Busoga in Uganda. Isebantu means "father of the people." This name was a symbol of unity derived from the expression and recognition by the people of Busoga that their leader was the "father of all people who brings all of them together", and who also serves as their cultural leader. Some changes to the constitution removed the term limits, which allows Nadiope to rule for life. Traditionally, the Kyabazinga throne rotates between chiefs in a timely election of the Lukiiko. The queen consort to the Kyabazinga is known as Inhebantu. Since 2014, the Kyabazinga has been William Gabula Nadiope IV, though the positition is contested.

Kyabazinga Henry Wako Muloki OBE was the Ugandan Kyabazinga of Busoga, the title given to the ruler of the Kingdom of Busoga, a traditional kingdom within Uganda. Muloki first became Kyabazinga of Busoga in 1955, a position he held until then Ugandan Prime Minister Milton Obote abolished all traditional institutions and kingdoms within the country in 1966. Muloki regained the title of Kyabazinga on February 11, 1995, after the Ugandan government restored the traditional kingdoms.
