Bunny is the fourth studio album by American indie rock band Beach Fossils, released on June 2, 2023.
In an Instagram post announcing Bunny's release date, Dustin Payseur wrote: "This is an album about missing friends, falling in love, embracing your mistakes, being depressed, having fun, absolute freedom, self-medicating, anger, longing, anxiety, self-discovery, being an idiot, hate, friendship, being lazy, being afraid, being naive, ignoring bullshit, trying new things, having regrets, being alive, feeling alone, loss of love, shedding the past, fucking up, healing and new beginnings. Bunny represents strength through vulnerability." [2]
Released on June 2, 2023, [3] [ non-primary source needed ]Bunny was Beach Fossils' first studio album since 2017's Somersault , [4] and ranked 5th on PopMatters ' "20 Best Pop Albums of 2023". [1] Reviewing the album on its original release, PopMatters' John Bergstrom gave it a 7⁄10 rating, declaring it "a pure, seamless combination of [Somersault's] pristine production and newfound maturity with the post-punk-influenced, guitar-driven sound of Beach Fossils' earliest releases." Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) are an English electronic band formed in the Wirral, Merseyside, in 1978. The group consists of founding duo and principal songwriters Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys, along with Martin Cooper and Stuart Kershaw (drums). Regarded as pioneers of electronic music, OMD combined an experimental, minimalist ethos with pop sensibilities, becoming key figures in the emergence of synth-pop; McCluskey and Humphreys also introduced the "synth duo" format to British popular music. The group's live band currently includes founder Dustin Payseur, Jack Doyle Smith (bass), Tommy Davidson (guitar), and Anton Hochheim (drums). They are known for their lo-fi, atmospheric sound, confessional and nostalgic lyrics, and Payseur's laid-back vocal style.
Whirr is a shoegaze band from Modesto, California. The group formed in 2010, originally as Whirl, but had to legally change its name after a woman performing acoustic covers of Black Sabbath songs trademarked the name and threatened a lawsuit. Whirr's shoegaze sound is often compared to My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive. Founding guitarist Nick Bassett also played in the band Deafheaven surrounding and including the release of their 2011 album Roads to Judah.

Jordan Terrell Carter, known professionally as Playboi Carti, is an American rapper and record producer from Atlanta, Georgia. Somersault is the third studio album by American indie rock band Beach Fossils, released on June 2, 2017, and produced by frontman Dustin Payseur and Jonathan Rado. It was the first Beach Fossils album released through Payseur's own label, Bayonet Records, which he started in 2015 with his wife and former label manager of Captured Tracks Katie Garcia. Somersault produced five singles that are considered to be among the band's best-known songs, which include "This Year", "Saint Ivy", "Down The Line", "Tangerine", and "Social Jetlag". The album marked a change in the band's style from the energetic jangle pop of previous records to a layered and more textured sound rooted in baroque pop and indie rock.
