"Burn Slow" was written by Charles Stephens III, Ryan Matthew Tedder, Carlos Battey, Michelle Elaine Buzz, Jaira Burns and produced by the first two. [1] Written in the key of A♭ minor, "Burn Slow" has a tempo of 90 beats per minute. [2] Lyrically, the song talks about smoking weed, she also said "This song represents so much about me, especially the soft side that shows the beginning of a relationship, taking things slow and loving the vibes being shared, spark one up, and let's burn it slow."
