C. Sathya is an Indian music composer and playback singer who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. He made his debut with the sleeper hit Engaeyum Eppothum (2011).
Sathya's background in Carnatic music had greatly influenced his skills in film music composition. Being a Carnatic singer and proficient in playing the harmonium, he effortlessly grasped the intricacies of music composition. This proficiency extended to the keyboard, which he had not only played but also programmed for various esteemed music directors, including Bharadwaj.
Despite facing initial challenges, Sathya got his first break with the film "Yen Ippadi Mayakinai" in 2009, although its release was delayed. However, the songs gained popularity in the audio circuit. It was after three years when the producers of Engaeyum Eppothum (2011) heard his compositions that he finally received recognition. The film turned out to be a sleeper hit, propelling Sathya's career forward. His exceptional work in this film opened doors for him, nad he has gained recognition and admiration in the industry for his distinct and melodic musical style.
Subsequently, he worked on projects like Sevarkkodi (2012) and Ponmaalai Pozhudhu (2012) in quick succession. Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna was an Indian Carnatic vocalist, musician, multi-instrumentalist, playback singer, composer, and character actor. He was awarded the Madras Music Academy's Sangeetha Kalanidhi in 1978. He has garnered two National Film Awards, the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1975, the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian honor in 1991, for his contribution towards arts, the Mahatma Gandhi Silver Medal from UNESCO in 1995, the Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Government in 2005, the Sangeetha Kalanidhi by Madras Music Academy, and the Sangeetha Kalasikhamani in 1991, by the Fine Arts Society, Chennai to name a few.
Kattassery Joseph Yesudas is an Indian playback singer and musician who sings Indian classical, devotional and film songs. He is widely considered one of the greatest singers in the history of Indian music and a cultural icon of Kerala. Yesudas is estimated to have recorded more than 50,000 songs in various Indian languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Tulu, Hindi, Odia, Bengali, Marathi as well as Arabic, English, Latin, and Russian, in a career spanning six decades. He is often referred to as Gaanagandharvan. Yesudas holds the record for singing 11 songs in different languages in a single day. Notable for his association with M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar. G. Ramanathan also composed for films of Salem Modern Theatres and Coimbatore Central Studios. His career lasted until his death in 1963. During the 1950s G.Ramanathan's music dominated most of the box office hits of the then leading Tamil movie stars Shivaji Ganesan and M. G. Ramachandran.

Naadu (transl. Country) is a 2023 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by M. Saravanan. Produced by Narayanan Sri Arch Media and Entertainment, the film stars Tharshan and Mahima Nambiar in the lead roles. The music was composed by C. Sathya with cinematography by K. A. Sakthivel. The film was released theatrically on 1 December 2023.
