CBE Software is an indie video game developer based in the Czech Republic. It was founded in 2006 as Cardboard Box Entertainment (CBE). The first released title was an adventure game Ghost in the Sheet. The studio was then inactive for a few years and its members worked on titles such as Dark Fall II: Lights Out , Barrow Hill and Tale of a Hero . [1]

The studio was in 2011 renamed to CBE Software and became a real company. A year later it released two games – J.U.L.I.A. and J.U.L.I.A. Untold . These games were exclusively published by Lace Mamba Global who didn't pay them and the publishing agreement was cancelled. The studio came to financial troubles and so released another game Vampires! [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

In March 2013, the Indiegogo for J.U.L.I.A. Among the Stars (originally titled J.U.L.I.A. Enhanced Edition) was launched. The goal was $5,000 but $14,120 was raised. It was released on 12 October 2014. It is a remake of the original J.U.L.I.A. with different gameplay and story. [7] [8]

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Video games in Brazil</span>

Brazil is the 13th-largest video game market in the world as of 2021, and the largest in Latin America, with a revenue of 1.3 billion US dollars. Video games were not permitted for import into Brazil until the 1990s, and were then heavily taxed as non-essential goods. As a result, a grey market developed around pirating games, driven by the lack of official channels for purchasing games. Many game companies avoided expansion into the country for these reasons until 2009. An exception was Sega, which retained a strong foothold in the country with the Master System and Mega Drive. Blaming high tariffs, Nintendo officially left the market in 2015, but returned in 2017, though Nintendo actually returned in 2020 with Nintendo Switch. In a three-episode series named Red Bull Parallels, Red Bull explored the country's relation with gaming.
