CJ Crew are a dance music DJ duo, consisting of Chris Bucknall and John Briley. Other aliases include Big Vin & Hugh Jardon, Chi K Monkey, Chi K Munki, Connie and the Plainsman, Demanche Noir, Muff and the Munchers, Nancy and the Boys, The Orff Ki Ensemble, Pyan Issim, Pynck Hobo, Terry and the Physicist, Umi Ghoulies, and Wine. CJ Crew have made a number of appearances on Toshiba EMI's Dancemania compilation albums, mainly those of the Speed sub-series, and on several soundtrack albums for the Dance Dance Revolution series and Martial Beat series. Their first appearance on the Dancemania series was on the 2000 compilation of Dancemania Speed 4 with two remix tracks, one being "Change The World" and the other being "Livin' La Vida Loca". [1]

Chris Bucknall also appeared as a keyboardist on Pete Haycock's 1987 album Guitar and Son, [2] and DJ Angel's two albums, Love Thing and Tell Me On Sunday, both issued in Germany in the mid-2000s. [3] John Briley produced a compilation album, entitled Brainwaves, issued in the United Kingdom in 1978. [4] John Briley started his musical career as a vocalist with various bands. His band 'Limelight' were signed to the Deram label with John having a solo deal with Decca Records. John presented the rock show Extravaganza on the BBC before commencing a path into the recording industry with labels that encompassed Transatlantic, Ariola, Arista, Polydor, then becoming MD of Zomba/Jive managing the career of Mutt Lange, working on the Def Leppard 'Hysteria' project, before becoming a board member and Senior Vice President at EMI / Capitol Records in London and Los Angeles. Acts that John was instrumental in the success of include Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart, Sky, Kiki Dee, Joan Jett, Krokus, Billy Ocean, Haircut 100, Radiohead, Blur, Iron Maiden, Queen, Duran Duran and many others. John's first success as a producer was the multi-million selling album by the Brighouse and Rastrick Band's 'The Floral Dance'.

It mainly released dance cover versions of past pop and rock hits and is primarily known for its 1993 hit with a cover of 4 Non Blondes' "What's Up". During its active years, DJ Miko released one album and twelve singles.

Bang! are a British happy hardcore group from the late 1990s originally consisting of producer Nick Arnold, Tom Orton and female vocalist Donna Grassie. Nick Arnold and Tom Orton had previously been a members of the band Smart E's, who reached 2 in the UK in 1992 with their cover of the theme tune to Sesame Street entitled Sesame's Treat. After the release of "Cloudy Daze" which featured Donna, Tom Orton brought Jo James to the attention of Nick after a contact of Tom's, Jo's husband, presented to him a demo of his wife singing.

Creamy were a Faroese-Danish teen-pop duo, composed of Rebekka Mathew and Rannva Joensen.

The original arcade game contains 11 tracks. Due to the staggered release of the game in other regions additional songs from newer releases in the series appear in the Asian, American and European releases.

<i>Dancemania Speed</i>

Dancemania Speed is a sub-series of Toshiba EMI's Dancemania compilation series. This series features faster, further remixed versions of recordings from previously released Dancemania albums or faster remixed covers of various famous songs. Unlike the main series mostly consisting of Eurodance, this series largely consists of hardcore techno crews from the UK, the home of happy hardcore, and some Eurobeat Italians who are very much experienced in high BPM dance music.

Classical Speed

Classical Speed is a sub-series of the Dancemania Speed compilation series, with uptempo dance remixes of famous classical music compositions.

Kurtis Campbell, better known as DJ Kambel, is a British electronic music DJ. While DJing in the UK happy hardcore scene, he composed many works for the mega-hit compilation Dancemania's Speed series, which made him one of the most frequently appearing artists on the series along with the likes of CJ Crew, Captain Jack, Bus Stop, E-Rotic and Smile.dk.

MC Magika, is a British MC, music producer and rave promoter. He was regularly featured at many of the big UK raves in the mid to late 1990s including Dreamscape, Helter Skelter, Fantazia, and on the dance music compilation DancemaniaSpeed sub-series. He is also well known for being the former MC for DJ Carl Cox.
