CMT Hot Twenty (formerly Hot 20 Countdown) is a weekly live music video show that counts down the twenty most popular country music videos. The show features a live audience, in-studio performances, and interviews. It premiered January 5, 2013, on CMT [1] and airs Saturday and Sunday mornings. It replaced the long-running Top 20 Countdown that aired from 2001 to 2012 and is similar to CMT Most Wanted Live, which aired from 2001 to 2004 and featured a live daily countdown.

The show is taped at Music City Tower in Nashville, Tennessee, along with viewer interaction through various social networking channels. The program features the standard format of a video countdown, interview, in-studio guest and feature segments. [2]

Voting is determined through both CMT management and viewers, as two pre-determined videos are listed for viewers to determine the vote. The #20 video is always new and determined by a 'Hot or Not' vote by viewers. [3] [4]

C4 (New Zealand TV channel) New Zealand television channel

C4 was a New Zealand television channel owned and operated by MediaWorks New Zealand. C4 was available on both digital terrestrial and satellite platforms and played music around the clock, including from their radio side from The Rock, The Edge, The Breeze, More FM, George FM, Mai FM & The Sound. C4 also aired a lot of speciality music shows such as HomeGrown, Top 10/100, Video Hits, Fade To Black, Steel Mill and Biggest Records Right Now. The channel was originally launched in October 2003 as a re-branding of TV4 which had been broadcasting since 1997. On 1 May 2010, as C4 had been moving away from music programming since 2008, the jukebox side was split off and C4 launched a second C4 channel on Channel 9 called C4 2. C4 2 was only available on digital Freeview terrestrial and satellite platforms. At the end of 2010 an announcement was made that MediaWorks would again re-brand the current C4 channel as FOUR, which meant C4 2 would be converted to a music show as C4 was moved to its Channel 9 position. C4 shut down on Thursday 26 June 2014 at 01:00 am. It was replaced by The Edge TV the next day on Friday 27 June 2014 at 04:00 pm.

<i>VH1 Top 20 Video Countdown</i>

The 20 was a weekly television show that aired on the VH1 cable television network in the United States. The long-running series began in 1994 as the VH1 Top 10 Countdown, part of VH1's "Music First" re-branding effort. Over the years a variety of hosts counted down the top ten or twenty music videos of the week. The order of countdown was originally decided by a mix of record sales, radio airplay, video spins, message board posts, and conventional mail. The series finale aired unexpectedly without any ceremony on November 28, 2015, with the last number one on the show belonging to Drake's "Hotline Bling".

<i>Video Hits</i> (Australian TV series)

Video Hits was an Australian music video program that first aired on 15 February 1987. From 7 May 2011 it broadcast on Network Ten for two hours each Saturday and Sunday morning: 10am – 12pm on Saturdays and 8am – 10am on Sundays. At the time of its cancellation, Video Hits was the world's second longest running music show after the Eurovision Song Contest. The show was cancelled in July 2011 and its last episode aired on 6 August 2011.

Lance Smith is an American actor and media personality, who, for eight years, was the host of CMT's Top Twenty Countdown. Smith had also hosted CMT's short-lived series "Got Me In With The Band," and a plethora of other various CMT specials, including award pre-shows and CMT's Spring Break concert specials.

Trojan Vision is a student television station at the University of Southern California through the School of Cinematic Arts. Top 20 Countdown is a former chart countdown program on CMT revolving around popular country music videos. Hosted by Lance Smith through most of its run, it premiered weekly on Friday mornings, with several reruns through the weekend and Monday, launching on January 3, 2001; a previous weekly countdown show through CMT's early years featured a countdown of only twelve popular videos. The first episode was the top 20 videos of 2001. Smith departed the series at the end of 2009, with Evan Farmer taking over from then until November 2012; the remainder of the series' run was either unhosted or had guest hosts.

The CMT Music Awards is a fan-voted awards show for country music videos and television performances. The awards ceremony is held every year in Nashville, Tennessee, and broadcast live on CMT. Voting takes place on CMT's website, CMT.com.

The Black Lillies

The Black Lillies are an Americana band from Knoxville, Tennessee that was founded in early 2009 by Cruz Contreras. They toured actively from 2009 until their last show on New Years Eve 2019 at The Purple Fiddle in Thomas, West Virginia. Their latest lineup included Contreras, Sam Quinn on bass, Bowman Townsend on percussion, and Dustin Schaefer on electric guitar and vocals.

<i>The Loop</i> (Australian TV series)

The Loop was an Australian music video show that aired on digital channel 10 Peach each Saturday from 9am to 11.30am and was hosted by Scott Tweedie, Ash London and Olivia Phyland.

The Edge TV

The Edge TV is a New Zealand online streaming channel that was officially launched as a television channel on 27 June 2014 as an extension of The Edge radio brand, which is owned by MediaWorks New Zealand. In September 2020, MediaWorks sold The Edge TV along with its entire television arm to the United States multinational mass media company Discovery, Inc., with the acquisition being finalised in December 2020. MediaWorks still produces the content which is broadcast on frequencies owned by Discovery Inc. On 21 March 2022, The Edge TV will go back to being an online-only streaming channel, alongside sister channel Breeze TV.
