West Coast hip-hop is a regional genre of hip-hop music that encompasses any artists or music that originated in the West Coast of the United States. West Coast hip-hop began to dominate from a radio play and sales standpoint during the early to-mid 1990s with the birth of G-funk and the emergence of record labels such as Suge Knight and Dr. Dre's Death Row Records, Ice Cube's Lench Mob Records, the continued success of Eazy-E's Ruthless Records, Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment, and others.
Keenon Dequan Ray Jackson, better known by his stage name YG, is an American rapper. He released his debut mixtape 4Fingaz in 2008, and its follow-up, The Real 4Fingaz, the following year. The latter gained recognition for its local hit song "Toot It and Boot It", which entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number 67 and received platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). He signed a recording contract with Def Jam Recordings in October 2009, which entered joint-venture with Atlanta-based rapper Jeezy's record label, CTE World, in 2013.
Kendrick Lamar Duckworth is an American rapper and songwriter. Regarded as one of the most influential hip-hop artists of his generation, and one of the greatest rappers of all time, he is known for his technical artistry and complex songwriting. He was awarded the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Music, becoming the first musician outside of the classical and jazz genres to receive the honor.
Black Hippy was an American hip hop supergroup from South Los Angeles, California, formed in 2008. The group consisted of West Coast rappers Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q. Black Hippy was constructed after all of its members had signed to Carson-based indie record label, Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE).
Jason L. Martin, formerly known by the stage name Problem, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer from Compton, California. He is best known for his guest appearance alongside YG and Iamsu! on E-40's 2012 single, "Function", which entered the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart and received gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), along with his guest appearance on Childish Gambino's single, "Sweatpants" the following year. His 2013 single, "Like Whaaat", entered both the aforementioned chart and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, serving as lead single for his debut extended play (EP), Understand Me (2013).
"Like Whaaat" is a song by American hip hop recording artist Problem, released on February 12, 2013 as a single, which was included on various mixtapes such as The Separation and later on his debut retail EP Understand Me. The song, produced by League of Starz, features a guest appearance from frequent collaborator Bad Lucc of Dubb Union. The song has since peaked at number 20 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles.
"Money Trees" is a song by American rapper Kendrick Lamar, taken from his major label debut studio album Good Kid, M.A.A.D City (2012). The song, which appears as the fifth track on the album, features a guest appearance from his Black Hippy cohort, fellow American rapper Jay Rock, and was produced by DJ Dahi. It entered the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart at number 19 due to high downloads, following the album's release. The song, mixed by Top Dawg engineer Derek "MixedByAIi" Ali, features background vocals from American singer Anna Wise of Sonnymoon. Money Trees samples the Beach House song "Silver Soul", from their 2010 album Teen Dream, as well as vocals from Lamar's "Cartoon and Cereal" and interpolates lyrics from E-40's "Big Ballin' With My Homies".
Rodney Jerome Brown, Jr., known professionally as RJMrLA, is an American rapper from Los Angeles, California. He is known for his frequent collaborations with fellow West Coast artists YG and Mustard, and was signed to their labels: 4Hunnid and 10 Summers Records respectively. His most celebrated releases to date are his O.M.M.I.O. mixtape trilogy.

Shoreline Mafia is an American hip hop group based in Los Angeles, that was originally active from 2016 until 2020. Their debut mixtape, ShorelineDoThatShit (2017) garnered local success, leading to a commercial re-issue by Atlantic Records in May 2018. In August of that year, they released the extended play (EP) Party Pack, and its sequel, Party Pack Vol. 2 in September 2019. Their debut studio album, Mafia Bidness (2020) peaked at number 27 on the Billboard 200. In April of that year, one of the band's founding members, Fenix Flexin announced his departure, leading its remaining members to briefly disband.
LNDN DRGS is a hip hop duo made up of Jay Worthy and producer Sean House. As of 2019, they have been primarily releasing projects through their GDF Records imprint.
Dominicke Williams, better known by his stage name Hitta J3, is an American rapper and songwriter, best known in the West Coast hip hop scene and for his collaborations and remixes. He is a longtime friend of fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar, and they have collaborated on multiple occasions.
Alejandro Lloyd Carranza, known professionally as OhGeesy, is an American rapper from Los Angeles. He is noted as a founding member of the hip hop group Shoreline Mafia. In 2021, with the band's apparent disbandment, OhGeesy shifted towards a solo career with the release of his debut solo album Geezyworld which peaked at number 102 on the Billboard 200.
Eunique Cooper Remble, known professionally as Remble, is an American rapper. Noted for his sharp humor and precise flow, he was described in the Los Angeles Times as "laceratingly funny" with a "distinctive and technically impressive vocal style." His debut mixtape, It's Remble, was released in July 2021.
The Big Steppers Tour was the fourth solo concert tour by American rapper Kendrick Lamar, in support of his fifth studio album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers (2022). It was his first concert tour and second arena-driven tour after the 2017–2018 Damn Tour. Visualized and formatted by PGLang, Lamar announced the tour hours after the release of Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. It began on June 23, 2022, in Milan, Italy, and concluded on March 23, 2024, in Mexico City, Mexico, consisting of 103 shows across six continents. 75 of those shows were held in arenas, while 28 were headlining performances at music festivals.
Fenixomar "Fenix" Rypinski, known professionally as Fenix Flexin, is an American rapper from Los Angeles. He is a founding member of the hip hop group Shoreline Mafia. In April 2020, Fenix announced that he would be leaving Shoreline Mafia later that year, after the release of their first studio album, Mafia Bidness. After the group's disbandment, Fenix released multiple mixtapes and an album as a solo artist. Fenix resumed performing as part of Shoreline Mafia in October 2023, rejoining the group as a member in May 2024.
The Pop Out: Ken & Friends was a one-off concert by American rapper Kendrick Lamar. It was held at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, on June 19, 2024. The Juneteenth and Black Music Month celebration marked Lamar's first major performance following his highly publicized feud with Canadian rapper Drake.
Kalan Montgomery, known by his stage name Kalan.FrFr, is an American melodic rapper. He has released numerous albums and EPs and collaborated with musicians that have included OhGeesy, Blxst, G Perico, Mozzy, Dom Kennedy, Ty Dolla $ign, Steve Aoki, among others. Kalan is based in Los Angeles and signed to Roc Nation.

"Squabble Up" is a song by American rapper Kendrick Lamar from his sixth studio album, GNX, released by pgLang and Interscope Records on November 26, 2024 as the lead single from the album alongside the B-side "TV Off". Initially teased in the music video for Lamar's diss track "Not Like Us", released on July 4, 2024, a 15-second snippet of the song appeared as Lamar walked through a dark hallway. Lamar produced the song with Sounwave, Jack Antonoff, and Bridgeway, with additional production by M-Tech. The track gained additional attention after being featured in promotional material for Mercedes AMG's Formula One campaign and during an NBA broadcast, eventually going viral on TikTok.
