CU London is a higher education institute owned and governed by Coventry University. [1] CU London began offering courses to students in September 2017. It currently operates out of two sites, one in the former Dagenham Civic Centre in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham [2] and another in the Mitre Passage building in the Greenwich Peninsula. [3] It includes Coventry University's second and third campuses in the capital alongside Coventry University London. [4]
CU London offers a range of subjects across Foundation, HNC, HND and degree level, which students can study full-time or part-time on evenings or weekends. Subjects offered by CU London include: [5]
Beyond its work teaching on undergraduate courses, CU London has continued to use its campus, the former Dagenham Civic Centre building, as a hub for community events. This has included the Annual Conference of the All Women’s Network [6] and Run4Life. [7]
CU London has also developed a range of bursaries and funding sources for young people and teachers in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. The CU London Open Bursary Fund offers additional tutoring in maths and English and a £10,000 donation was made to the Colin Pond Trust Fund to provide extra financial help across local schools. [8]

Peripheral to London, the district formed part of the Metropolitan Police District and London Traffic Area. The Civic Centre in Dagenham is a former municipal building in Becontree Heath, an area within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. The building was designed in the modern style by the British architect Ernest Berry Webber in 1936 and was opened the following year. The local authority, Barking and Dagenham London Borough Council, occupied the building until 2016 when it was vacated and leased to CU London, a new university, the following year. It was designated as a Grade II listed building in 1981.
Valence House Museum is the only surviving of the five manor houses of Dagenham. The timber-framed museum building, partially surrounded by a moat, is situated in Valence Park off Becontree Avenue, in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, London, England. The building has been used as a manor house, a family home, a town hall, the headquarters of the library service and now houses a museum.
The Barking Learning Centre, in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, is a community-based learning facility. The centre is located in Barking Town Square and hosts a library, a cafe, an art gallery, a sauna and spa, and offers a range of courses and qualifications. It was constructed on the site of the much-lamented former Barking Library. The Barking Learning Centre website states that its primary focus:

GSM London (formerly Greenwich School of Management (GSoM)) was a private provider of higher education based in Greenwich, south-east London, and Greenford, west London. Founded in 1973, it offered business-specific courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels alongside other specialist training, and catered to a large number of international students. As of 2019, GSM London had educated over 20,000 students. It was owned by the private equity firm Sovereign Capital.
