The Cabinet Gabriel was the state government of the German state of Lower Saxony from 15 December 1999 until 4 March 2003. The Cabinet was headed by Minister President Sigmar Gabriel and was formed by the Social Democratic Party. On 15 December 1999 Gabriel was elected and sworn in as Minister President by the Landtag of Lower Saxony. A cabinet reshuffle took place in December 2000. [1]

He was Leader of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) from 2009 to 2017, which made him the party's longest-serving leader since Willy Brandt. He was the Federal Minister of the Environment from 2005 to 2009 and the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy from 2013 to 2017. The 2003 Lower Saxony state election was held on 2 February 2003 to elect the members of the 15th Landtag of Lower Saxony. The incumbent Social Democratic Party (SPD) majority government led by Minister-President Sigmar Gabriel was defeated. The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) came up one seat short of a majority, and formed a coalition with the Free Democratic Party (FDP). CDU leader Christian Wulff was subsequently elected minister-president.

The Cabinet Glogowski was the state government of the German state of Lower Saxony from 28 October 1998 until 14 December 1999. The Cabinet was headed by Minister President Gerhard Glogowski and was formed by the Social Democratic Party. On 28 October 1998, Minister President Gerhard Schröder resigned from his position as Minister President due to his new position as Chancellor. On the same day, Gerhard Glogowski was elected as his successor by the Landtag of Lower Saxony. It was succeeded by Siegmar Gabriel's Cabinet Gabriel.
