Cabum, born Frank Kwame Gyasi- Frimpong on 15 June 1985, to Ghanaian highlife musician Alhaji Kwame Frimpong (popularly known as Alhaji K. Frimpong) and Joyce Asabia Frimpong, is a Ghanaian rapper from Kumasi. [1]

Career

After two years of work, he got signed to Rock Entertainment and worked with a few managers including Andy Kem and Yaw Sarpong-Kumankuma. [2] He has since released his first studio album "The Beginning". [3] [4] His slogan or emblem which literally means "Cherish it" normally precedes or ends all his records. He uses that slogan to usher his listeners into his music to cherish his lyrics. Cabum has since shared the stage with Angelique Kidjo [5] and Youssou Ndour at the Mo Ibrahim Freedom Concert. [5]

Michael Mensah Ayenu, better known as DJ Mensah, is a Ghanaian DJ, events promoter and entrepreneur. He doubles as the official DJ for 15 time Ghana Music and BET awards winner Sarkodie. Known as the "Untouchable" he holds a track record of very successful events to his name such as Akwaaba UK's "December In Ghana" events, "Party in the Park" as well as his annual DJ Mensah "All White Party" and CEO of event company A-Town entertainment. In 2017, he was awarded best DJ at the 2017 Ghana entertainment awards. In 2018, he founded and launched the "DJ Mensah Foundation and touched lives of young ones at the borstal home in Accra. Adjei Nelson Otumfour, better known by his stage name AJ Nelson is a Ghanaian recording artist. He is most famous for the singles “Same Girl,” “Faith” and “Power to the People” and is currently the only rapper who fuses the Bono language with Ashanti Twi in his songs. In 2015, AJ Nelson initiated a campaign titled “Power To the People” to empower the youth of his homeland, Ghana and the African continent to speak against woes of society since he felt there were much corruption and conflicts on the African continent but the people most affected could hardly voice their thoughts and emotions to the leaders of society. The campaign attracted the attention of important figures like Communication Director at World Bank, Mr. Kofi Tsikata k and Bella Mundi of GH One TV who joined the campaign. In the same period, AJ Nelson released a hip-hop song titled “Power to the People”. In November 2015, the song was ranked the 3rd most downloaded Ghanaian Hiphop Song on iTunes. AJ Nelson was ranked the 3rd top-selling artist on iTunes in November 2015.

Kofi Kinaata Ghanaian musician

Martin King Arthur popularly known as Kofi Kinaata is a Ghanaian musician and songwriter from Takoradi. He is noted for his Fante rap and freestyle and therefore known as the Fante Rap God (FRG). Apart from his rap prowess, he has grown into a very good singer taking the highlife genre by storm.

Born in Tema, Accra, she released her debut single, "Wats Ma Name" and also "Tonga", the remix of the track "Tonga" by Joey B ft Sarkodie in 2014 that lifted her into the limelight. It was claimed she was the first female rapper to hit a million views on YouTube.

Gh hiphop, Gh rap or Ghana hip hop is a hip hop genre, subculture and art movement which developed in Ghana during the late 1990s. The hiphop genre came into existence in Ghana through Reggie Rockstone, who is known as the hiplife father and other notable musicians such as Jayso and Ball J. It first came to Ghana as Hiplife where Reggie Rockstone introduced a fusion of hiphop beats with African sounds to create a whole new genre. Hiplife is different from Western Hiphop because it involves local dialects such as Twi, Ga, Ewe, Hausa and broken-English, popularly known in Ghana as "pidgin".
