Cady Short-Thompson is an American academic administrator who is the president of Northern Kentucky University. She was previously provost Hope College and dean of the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College.
Short-Thompson completed a B.A.,M.A.,and Ph.D. in communication from the University of Cincinnati. [1]
From 1996 to 2010,Short-Thompson served as a professor of communication,graduate program director,and department chair at the Northern Kentucky University (NKU). [1] She was a professor and provost at Hope College. [2] She served as dean of the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College. [2] She later served as the chief executive officer and executive director of Breakthrough Cincinnati. [3]
In September 2023,Short-Thompson was announced as the seventh president of NKU. She began on October 2,2023. [2] She succeeded interim president Bonita Brown. [3]

The Northern Kentucky Norse men's basketball team represents Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights,Kentucky,United States. The school's athletic program began a transition to NCAA Division I in the 2012–13 school year. For the first three seasons of the transition,it was a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference. In the final season of the transition in 2015–16,the Norse joined the Horizon League. The Norse were coached by John Brannen until April 14,2019,when he left to take a job with the University of Cincinnati Bearcats.
