Caity Thompson is an American Women's Sabreist from Portland, Oregon. She holds 5 women’s Saber fencing world championships titles, 4 of which are gold. She grew up in Beaverton and graduated from Penn State University.
Caity Thompson competed in fencing for fourteen years and was a member of the Oregon Fencing Alliance (OFA) where she trained with Ed Korfanty and Adam Skarbonkiewicz . [1] She is the youngest American National champion in history, claiming her title at 14. Caity had a decorated fencing career including numerous world titles. She claimed her first individual world title In 2004 becoming the under-17 Cadet World Champion. Throughout her career she was a member of several United States World teams including the 2004 Cadet and Junior team, the 2005 Junior and National team and the 2006 Junior and National team. She went on to win 5 World Championship medals, four of which were gold. These titles included the United States first gold medal in Women's Saber team history during the 2005 Senior World Championships in Leipzig, Germany.

Caity received the award of "Most Valuable Women's fencer" her freshman year ending the season with a record of 21-4. She was named an All-American in all four years she competed. In 2007, Caity Thompson and Doris Willette led Penn State to win their first NCAA fencing title in 4 years. Caity went 22-2 in the championship meet, with Doris Willette going 23-1. Caity took 2007-2008 year off to train for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China. She later returned to Penn State helping them to claim two more National Champion titles.
Sada Molly Jacobson is an American Olympic fencer. She is the 2008 Olympic Individual Sabre silver medalist in women's sabre, the 2004 Olympic Individual Sabre bronze medalist in women's sabre, and the 2003 Pan American Games champion in women's sabre. In 2016, she was inducted into the United States Fencing Hall of Fame.
Vladimir Nazlymov - Sabre fencer and coach for USSR and later United States. Born in Makhachkala, Daghestan. A 1970 graduate of The Daghestan State Pedagogical Institute, Nazlymov earned a bachelor's and master's degree in physical education. He earned the title of Master of the Sport (Fencing) in 1968.
Mariel Leigh Zagunis is an American sabre fencer. She is a two-time Olympic champion in the individual sabre and the first American to win a gold medal in Olympic fencing. She was Team USA flag bearer in the 2012 Summer Olympics Parade of Nations. She has two Olympic bronze team medals and is a five-time Olympian.
Edward Korfanty is a Polish-born American fencing master, U.S. National Women's saber coach, Olympic saber coach, and a former Men's Veterans Saber World Champion.
Rebecca "Becca" Ward is an American sabre fencer. She won the gold medal at the sabre 2006 World Fencing Championships after beating Mariel Zagunis 15–11 in the final, and took bronze in both individual and team sabre events at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She also won the women's NCAA national individual sabre championship three times, the first in history to do so in sabre. In 2015, she was inducted into the USA Fencing Hall of Fame.
Emily Phillipa Jacobson is an American Olympic sabre fencer. She won a bronze medal in the 2003 Pan American Games, and was 2004 Junior World Champion in women's saber.
Dagmara "Daga" Wozniak is an American saber fencer. Wozniak was named to the U.S. Olympic team at the 2008 Summer Olympics in women's saber competition as a substitute, and as a competitor at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. As of the summer of 2016, she was ranked as one of the top 10 saber fencers in the world.
Fencing competitions at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore consisted of three Cadet Male individual events, three Cadet Female individual events and one team event including both genders and all 3 weapons: épée, foil and saber. 78 fencers from 36 nations were competing. The venue was located at the International Convention Centre (ICC).
