California State Polytechnic University Pomona, is a public polytechnic university in Pomona, California. It is the largest of the three polytechnic universities in the California State University system.
Robert Allen Williams is an American college basketball coach and the former head men's basketball coach at the UC Santa Barbara. He is sometimes referred to as the Dean of the Big West Conference's basketball coaches. He was previously the head coach at the UC Davis, winning the NCAA Men's Division II Basketball Championship in 1998. Williams is the all-time winningest coach at UC Santa Barbara with a 19-year record of 313–260.

It began on March 13, 2010. The tournament was won by the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona men's basketball team, which defeated Indiana University of Pennsylvania, 65–53, in the title game. The championship was the first in the Broncos' history after ending runner-up in 2009.

Joe Lombardi is an American basketball coach currently the head coach for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) Crimson Hawks of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in NCAA Division II. Prior to taking the head coaching position at IUP, Lombardi served as an assistant coach, including a nine-year tenure at La Salle University and three season under Jamie Dixon at the University of Pittsburgh. In his fourth season with the Crimson Hawks in 2009–10, Lombardi led the team to the 2010 NCAA Men's Division II Basketball Championship where they were defeated by the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos. Following the season, Lomardi was named as the 2010 Basketball Times Division II National Coach of the Year.
The Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes are the men's and women's intercollegiate athletic teams of California State University, San Bernardino. The athletic department was established in 1984 and the school's athletic mascot is the Coyotes, sometimes shortened as “Yotes” during cheers. The school's official colors are coyote blue and black.
