Caleb Gardiner is an Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party politician,who was appointed to the Senate of Antigua and Barbuda for the government on 23 January 2023. [1] Gardiner was replaced by Dwayne George on 3 August 2023 to become a diplomat in Washington,D.C. [2]
In 2023 Gardiner was nominated for the Overall Caribbean Youth of the Year Award by the Caribbean Regional Youth Council’s Caribbean Youth awards and was also recognized as one of the region’s 35 most influential game-changers and visionaries by the Caribbean Regional Youth Council. [3]
Antigua and Barbuda is a sovereign archipelagic country composed of Antigua,Barbuda,and numerous other small islands. Antigua and Barbuda has a total area of 440 km2,making it one of the smallest countries in the Caribbean. The country is mostly flat,with the highest points on Antigua being in the Shekerley Mountains and on Barbuda the Highlands. The country has a tropical savanna climate,with pockets of tropical monsoon in Antigua's southwest. Its largest city is St. John's.
Barbuda is an island and dependency located in the eastern Caribbean forming part of the twin-island state of Antigua and Barbuda as an autonomous entity. Barbuda is located approximately 30 miles (48 km) north of Antigua. The only settlements on the island are Codrington and its surrounding localities. Barbuda is a flat island with the western portion being dominated by Codrington Lagoon,and the eastern portion being dominated by the elevated plateau of the Barbuda Highlands,with salty ponds and scrubland spread throughout the island. The climate is classified as tropical marine.

Sir Richard Benjamin Richardson,KCN GCM is a former West Indies international cricketer and a former captain of the West Indian cricket team. The Antiguan Carnival is a celebration of emancipation from slavery,held annually on the island of Antigua. It is a thirteen-day festival of colorful costumes,beauty pageants,talent shows,and music. The festival begins in late July and ends the first Tuesday in August,known as Carnival Tuesday. Both Carnival Monday and Carnival Tuesday are public holidays on the island. Antiguan Carnival replaced the Old Time Christmas Festival in 1957,with hopes of inspiring tourism in Antigua and Barbuda. Some elements of the Old Time Christmas Festival remain in the modern Carnival celebrations.

As Auntie Gwen,she hosted a cooking show Cooking Magic,which began airing on the Antigua and Barbuda Broadcasting Service (ABS) in the 1960s until her death,the longest running television series in the eastern Caribbean,other than news programs. The recipient of many awards,she was honored with the Order of the British Empire,the Order of Honour of Antigua and Barbuda,Distinguished Order of the Nation.
Alincia T. H. Williams-Grant is an Antiguan and Barbudan politician. She was appointed as a Senator and elected as the President of the Upper House of Parliament in Antigua and Barbuda in June 2014.

Browne initiated a constitutional referendum after the 2018 election,which was rejected by voters,and following the death of Elizabeth II in 2022,he announced his intention to organise a referendum for the transition of Antigua and Barbuda to a republican system. Besides ABLP,the United Progressive Party (UPP),Democratic National Alliance,Barbuda People's Movement (BPM),and three independent politicians filed candidacies for the 2023 general election.
Cheryl Mary Clare Hurst is an Antiguan and Barbudan politician. She is a senator of the Upper House of Parliament in Antigua and Barbuda. She was appointed senator by Prime Minister Gaston Browne. She is also the General Secretary of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party. Hurst was appointed senator after the 2014 general elections held in Antigua and Barbuda.

On October 24,2023,a by-election was conducted in the Antiguan seat of St. Mary's South in response to the resignation of Kelvin Simon,the sitting UPP member of parliament,due to challenges to his candidacy.
