Calton Pu

Calton Pu is a Taiwanese-American electrical engineer from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. He was named Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2016 [1] for contributions to system software specialization, information security, and services computing.

Pu was born in Taiwan and spent his childhood in Brazil, before emigrating to the United States. [2]

He is TSMC Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the electronic engineering and computer science department of the University of California, Berkeley, in the United States. In 2009, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers described him as a “microelectronics visionary … whose seminal work on metal-oxide semiconductor MOS reliability and device modeling has had enormous impact on the continued scaling of electronic devices”.

Yu Hsiu Ku or Gu Yuxiu was a Chinese-American electrical engineer, musician, novelist, poet, and politician. A polymathic academic, he was one of the first Chinese people to earn a doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in 1928, and became a leader in higher education in China until the fall of the Republic of China in 1949. Afterwards, he worked for many years as a professor of electrical engineering at the University of Pennsylvania.

Bede Liu is a professor emeritus at Princeton University. He was born in Shanghai, China in 1934. He received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering at National Taiwan University. He earned his master's degree and doctorate in 1956 and 1960, respectively, in electrical engineering, from what is now called New York University Tandon School of Engineering.

Ranjan Kumar Mallik is an Indian electrical and communications engineer and a professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He held the Jai Gupta Chair at IIT Delhi from 2007 to 2012 and the Brigadier Bhopinder Singh Chair from 2012 to 2017. He is known for his researches on multiple-input multi-output systems and is an elected fellow of all the three major Indian science academies viz. Indian Academy of Sciences, Indian National Science Academy, and The National Academy of Sciences, India. He is also an elected fellow of The World Academy of Sciences, Indian National Academy of Engineering, and The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.

Faramarz Fekri from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta was named Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2016 for contributions to coding theory and its applications.

Ta Sung Lee (李大嵩) is a Taiwanese professor of electrical engineering at National Chiao Tung University (NCTU). He studied electrical engineering at National Taiwan University as an undergraduate, graduating in 1983 before moving to the United States where he received an M.S. degree from in the same field from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1987 and a Ph.D. from Purdue University in 1989. The following year, he returned to Taiwan, where he joined the NCTU faculty. He was named Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2016 "for leadership and contributions in communication systems and signal processing".

Xiaoli Ma from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA was named Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2016 for contributions to block transmissions over wireless fading channels.
