Calum Neff

Calum Neff (born 15 August 1984) is Canadian long-distance runner and coach who lives in Katy, Texas. He holds three Guinness World Records for pushing his daughters in 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon distance races. [1] [2]

Neff was born in Aberdeen, Scotland to Canadian parents. [3] He competes for Canada in the World Mountain Running Championships and in January 2021, Neff broke the Canadian 50K national record with a time of 2:51:27 in his second try at the record. [4] [1] [5] Neff is also known for his work as a pacer. He paced Sara Hall in her American record quest at the Marathon Project and Keira D'Amato to her American record and Houston Marathon win in January 2022. [5] [6]

Neff won the Ultramarathon 50K Race at the Marine Corps Marathon, North America's largest ultramarathon, in 2023 and 2024. Neff set a course record of 2:55:57 in October 2023.

In December 2023, he won the 50K race at the Dallas Marathon, setting a course record.

Neff is a University of Houston graduate who works as an operations manager and running coach. [4] [7]

Yuki Kawauchi is a Japanese marathon runner. He came to prominence after running the 2011 Tokyo Marathon in 2:08:37, finishing as the first Japanese citizen and third overall. He was known as the "citizen runner" given that he used to work full-time for the government of Saitama Prefecture and trained in his time off with his own expenses without any sponsorship. Kawauchi won the 2018 Boston Marathon. In 2020, he left his job in local government and became a full-time professional runner.

Ruth Chepng'etich is a Kenyan road runner who is the current women's world record holder in the marathon, with a time of 2:09:56 set at the 2024 Chicago Marathon. Chepng'etich is the 2019 world champion in the marathon, and is a three time winner of the Chicago Marathon, having won in 2021, 2022 and 2024, where she set the world record. She is the first woman to break the 2:11 and 2:10 barriers in the marathon, and also holds the third-fastest mark of all time for the half marathon, at 1 hour 4 minutes and 2 seconds.

The 10-mile run is a long-distance running event over a distance of ten miles (16.1 kilometres). It can be held on a road course or on a running track. Jacky Hunt-Broersma is an American amputee ultramarathon runner who was born and raised in South Africa. Hunt-Broersma lost her leg to Ewing sarcoma in 2001 when she was 26 years old. She started running in 2016. She quickly progressed from running 5 km races to running ultramarathons.

Keira D'Amato is an American distance runner. She is the American half marathon record holder with a time of 1:06:39 at the 2023 Gold Coast Half marathon on July 1, 2023. She held the American women's record in the marathon with her time of 2:19:12 at the 2022 Houston Marathon, until Emily Sisson set a new record time on October 9, 2022. She is the world best holder for the women's-only 10-mile distance and a three-time USA Track & Field national champion.

The Marathon Project was an elite-only marathon held on the Gila River Indian Reservation in Chandler, Arizona. December 2020. It was created by Northern Arizona Elite coach Ben Rosario together with Josh Cox and Matt Helbig to provide a race after many of the World Marathon Majors were cancelled due to COVID-19.
