Cameron "Cam" Christon is an American professional basketball player for the Cheshire Phoenix of the British Basketball League. He played college basketball for the Boise State Broncos and the Grambling State Tigers.

High school career

Christon attended Allen High School where he played basketball and football. Playing wide receiver on the gridiron, he suffered a collarbone injury which ended his football career. [1] As a senior, Christon averaged 15 points per game and earned District 6-6A Offensive MVP recognition. An unranked shooting guard, Christon committed to play college basketball at Boise State over Northern Iowa. [2]

College career

Christon appeared in 14 games as a freshman at Boise State and averaged two points per game. Following the season he transferred to Grambling State. [1] As a junior, Christon averaged 13.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. [3] He averaged 13.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game as a senior, earning Second Team all-SWAC honors. [4] As a super-senior, Christon averaged 13 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. [5] At the conclusion of the season he was named SWAC Player of the Year. [6]

Professional career

After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA draft, Christon signed a contract with the Cheshire Phoenix on July 20, 2023. [7] On January 28, 2024, Cheshire won the BBL Trophy. [8]

Personal life

Christon is the son of Ladonna and Tiger Christon. His father was a tight end at Grambling State under coach Eddie Robinson. Christon's older sister Amaya ran track at Tulsa and another sister Morgan plays volleyball at Texas A&M. [1]

Kenny Sykes is an American high school basketball coach who is best known for his collegiate career at Grambling State University between 1992 and 1995. Sykes, a 6'4" shooting guard, was the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Newcomer of the Year and a second team all-conference selection as a sophomore in 1992–93. He averaged 23.9 points, 5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.1 steals per game that year. In Sykes' junior season he was once again named to the all-conference second team, this time behind averages of 21 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.8 steals. In 1994–95, his senior year, Sykes averaged a conference-leading 26.3 points per game as well as 4.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists. He was named the SWAC Player of the Year, becoming just the second player from Grambling State to earn the honor.

Anthony Drmic is an Australian professional basketball player for the Tasmania JackJumpers of the National Basketball League (NBL). He played college basketball for the Boise State Broncos and is their second all-time leading scorer. He led Boise State to two NCAA Tournaments during his 5 years with the Broncos. While he has represented the Australian under-19 team, he also holds a Croatian passport.
