Army of Lovers is a Swedish dance-pop group which formed in 1987 and had a number of hits in Europe throughout the 1990s. Some of their biggest successes include the song "Crucified", which was a big hit in Europe, charting 31 weeks in the Eurochart and peaking at number 14 in 1992. It remains their best-known song internationally. Their second international hit, "Obsession", charted 32 weeks and peaked at number 29.
Ingrid Lilian Thulin was a Swedish actress and director who collaborated with filmmaker Ingmar Bergman. She was often cast as harrowing and desperate characters, and earned acclaim from both Swedish and international critics. She won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress for her performance in Brink of Life (1958) and the inaugural Guldbagge Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for The Silence (1963), and was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress BAFTA for Cries and Whispers (1972).
The MS Estonia was a cruiseferry built in 1980 for the Finnish company Rederi Ab Sally by Meyer Werft, in Papenburg West Germany. She was employed on ferry routes between Finland and Sweden by various companies until 1993, when she was sold to Nordström & Thulin for use on Estline's Tallinn–Stockholm route. The ship's sinking on 28 September 1994, in the Baltic Sea between Sweden, Finland and Estonia, was one of the worst peacetime maritime disasters of the 20th century, claiming 852 lives.
Sara Magdalena Ernman is a Swedish mezzo-soprano opera singer. Besides operas and operettas, she has also performed chansons, cabaret, jazz, and appeared in musicals. She is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. Ernman represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song "La Voix", finishing in 21st place.
The Thulin LA was a Swedish two-seat, single-engine biplane designed by Enoch Thulin in 1917 and made by his company AB Thulinverken in Landskrona. It was based on the earlier Thulin L and E aircraft, with a new engine, fuselage and empennage. The L and E types were in turn based on the German Albatros B.II aircraft, like the NAB Albatros. The Thulin LA was used in Sweden, the Netherlands (10) and Finland (1). This type also made the first passenger transport flights between Sweden and Denmark in 1919. Altogether there were 15 Thulin LAs built.
Brink of Life, is a 1958 Swedish drama film directed by Ingmar Bergman. Bergman won the Best Director Award and Andersson, Dahlbeck, Ornäs and Thulin won the Best Actress Award at the 1958 Cannes Film Festival.
Disco Extravaganza is the debut studio album by Swedish pop group Army of Lovers, released in 1990. In the US, the album was simply titled Army of Lovers and was released there the following year. A remastered version of the album was released in 2006.
Melodifestivalen 2009 was a Swedish song contest held between February and March 2009. It was the selection for the 49th song to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest, and was the 48th edition of Melodifestivalen. Five heats were held in the Swedish cities of Gothenburg, Skellefteå, Leksand and Malmö, with Norrköping hosting the final Andra Chansen round.

Vera Julia Thulin was a Swedish freestyle swimmer who competed in the 1912 Summer Olympics. She was eliminated in the first round of the 100 m event and finished fourth with the Swedish 4 × 100 m relay team. Her elder sister Willy competed in diving at the same Olympics.
King Island Roxystars Recordings AB, more known as Roxy Recordings, or Roxy is an independent record label based in Kungsholmen, Stockholm, Sweden where their office is the former site of Cheiron Studios and its successor The Location. It was bought by Universal Music Group in August 2011. The label was formed in 2007 and is owned by Playground Music Scandinavia. The label is mostly active on the Swedish market, but with former signed artists such as Agnes Carlsson and Erik Hassle, they have made an international leap. Agnes was the first one out, selling almost one million copies of her international hit single "Release Me" in 2009 and being released under Roxy's licence in 35 countries. Erik Hassle was successful with his hit "Hurtful" in among others, the UK. Victor Finke, also known under his stage name DEEVA, had a streaming hit with "Space Dance".
"La voix" is a song by Swedish singer Malena Ernman, which served as the Swedish entry at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, held in Moscow, Russia. It was composed by Fredrik Kempe, with lyrics by both Kempe and Ernman. It is the first Swedish entry to contain lyrics in French, as well as being the last Swedish entry to have contained lyrics in a language other than English. Despite the fact that France's Patricia Kaas would get a relatively good placing in the final, Ernman drew further attention to Francophone culture in the semi-final, as well in the grand final, despite her ultimate placing (21st).
Living on 'Hope' is a 1951 Swedish comedy film directed by Göran Gentele and starring Meg Westergren, Ingrid Thulin, Per Oscarsson and Gunvor Pontén. It was shot at the Sundbyberg Studios of Europa Film in Stockholm and on location around the city. The film's sets were designed by the art director Arne Åkermark. At the 1st Berlin International Film Festival it won the Silver Bear (Comedies) award.
Marita Elisabeth Lindquist was a Finnish author of many children's books. Born in Helsinki, she was of the Swedish-speaking population of Finland. In addition, she had written song lyrics, illustrated books, and worked as a translator, materials writer, producer, editor, and journalist.
The FVM Ö 1 Tummelisa is a single seat, single engine Swedish biplane from the 1920s. It was operated by the Swedish Air Force as its advanced trainer until the mid-1930s.
Big Battle of Egos was Army of Lovers' seventh album. It was a compilation of previous albums, including four new songs: Rockin' The Ride, Crashing Down, Signed on my Tattoo and Tragedy. It was released throughout Europe in March 2013.

Saskia Maria Desiree Vogel is an American author and translator. Permission, her debut novel, was published in English, Spanish, Italian, and Swedish in 2019 and has been optioned for television. She has translated leading Swedish authors such as Karolina Ramqvist, Katrine Marcal, Johannes Anyuru and Rut Hillarp. Vogel has written on the themes of gender, power and sexuality, and her translations and writing have appeared in publications such as Granta, Guernica, The White Review, The Offing, Paris Review Daily, and The Quietus. She received an honorable mention from the Pushchart Prize in 2017 for her "Sluts", first published by The Offing. Her translation of Lina Wolff's The Polyglot Lovers won the English PEN Translates Award. In 2018, her translation of Karolina Ramqvist's The White City was shortlisted for the Petrona Award.
The Case of Ingegerd Bremssen is a 1942 Swedish drama film directed by Anders Henrikson and starring Sonja Wigert, Henrikson, Dagmar Ebbesen and Gösta Cederlund. It was based on a 1937 novel of the same title by Dagmar Edqvist. It was shot at the Sundbyberg Studios in Stockholm. The film's sets were designed by the art director Max Linder.
