Camp Greylock is a boys' summer camp located in Becket, Massachusetts, United States. The land was purchased in the fall of 1915, and its opening summer was 1916. Its founders were three brothers, George, Gabriel ("Doc"), and Lou Mason. It is currently the oldest continuously operating, private, all-boys' summer camp in Massachusetts. [1]

Conrad Mainwarning controversy

In February 2024, former Olympic hurdler Conrad Mainwaring was sentenced to 10 to 11 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting at least 14 boys during the time he worked at Camp Greylock between 1975 and 1979. [17] [28]

The Circle Star Theatre was a performing arts venue in San Carlos, San Mateo County, California. Its name is based on it being a theater in the round, featuring a rotating circular stage with none of its 3,743 seats further than 50 feet from the stage. Camp Agawam is a boys' camp located on Crescent Lake in Raymond, Maine, United States, and is one of the oldest summer camps for boys in the United States. The camp was founded in 1919 by Appleton A. Mason, and remained in the Mason family until 1985. The Boston Globe described the camp in 1988 as "an old camp with old ideas." However, in 2009, Senator Susan Collins described its program as "unique and exciting." It is noted for its award-winning charitable program, Main Idea, which enables underprivileged boys to attend the camp. The camp is run as a non-profit organization, directed by Erik Calhoun.

The Beacon Royal, also known as the Beacon Court, is an Art Deco block of flats constructed in 1934. This was a time of enormous growth as South Africa and the rest of the world emerged from the Great Depression. All over Yeoville and Bellevue in the years 1933 – 1934, blocks of flats were going up. The Beacon Court is located on stand 1044 at 55 Grafton Road/Louis Botha Avenue in Yeoville, Johannesburg. It was designed for PP Weisholtz by the brothers Obel and Obel who were also responsible for Astor Mansions in Jeppe Street and the Circle Court in Willie Street which overlooked Clarendon Circle at the time.
