Campus DJ is a college-specific music competition held bi-annually in the United States. Campus DJ invites students currently enrolled in a college or university to participate in its events. [1] [2]
The Campus DJ format is similar to the NCAA basketball tournament. Top college DJs and music producers compete at events in local college markets, [3] [4] before advancing onto the National Semi-Finals, and then the National Finale. The events reward winning college DJs with cash prizes, gear, and exposure. The tour is also a sister-event to Campus MovieFest and previously also the College Battle of the Bands tours. [5] [6]
California State University, Northridge, is a public university in the Northridge neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, United States. KURE is a student-run radio station at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. The station serves the Iowa State community, Ames, and surrounding areas. The broadcast license is currently owned by Residence Association Broadcasting Services, Inc. The station has been led by its general manager Carly Nichols since Spring 2023.
Jaz is a beach in the Budva Municipality in Montenegro. It is located 2.5 km west of central Budva. It consists of two areas, one of which measures about 850 metres and the other, formerly a nudist beach, stretches around 450 metres (0.45 km). It is unique in that it is a pebble beach; there is a campground along the main section of the beach as well, with an availability of 2,000 lots.
Unmaad is the annual cultural festival presented by Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. Conducted over a period of three days, Unmaad includes events like dramatics, music performances, dances, quizzes, debates, street plays, professional concerts and fashion show. Marwan Parham Al Awadhi, better known by his stage name DJ Bliss, is an Emirati disc jockey, emcee, TV presenter, and radio personality working in Dubai. In addition to being actively involved in the nightclub and DJ scene in Dubai, he is known for his music production including co-producing Wyclef Jean and releasing his own single and compilation album The Projects. The album was released on BMGI Middle East and was top 10 on the Middle East album chart of Virgin.
College Battle of the Bands (CBoB) was a college-specific national battle of the bands competition in the United States that ran from 2009-2012. As of 2010 it was the only nationwide competition of its kind. Initially known as Campus MusicFest, CBoB was originally part of Campus MovieFest (CMF) before becoming a separate entity. Like CMF, CBoB invited students actively enrolled in a college or university to participate in its events. The tour also helped pave the way for the launch of Campus DJ in 2013.
Saarang is the annual social and cultural festival of IIT Madras. It is a 5-day long festival usually in the second week of the year. Founded in 1974, Saarang is the second oldest college festival in India. It was started in the name of 'Mardi Gras' with a small number of quizzes and music events. It adopted the name 'Saarang' and grew with the help of corporate sponsorship, collaboration with large-scale event organizers and international artists.
Sunburn Festival is a commercial electronic dance music festival held in India. It was started by entrepreneur Shailendra Singh of Percept Ltd.
SpringSpree, sometimes written as Spring Spree and popularly known as Spree, is the annual cultural festival of the National Institute of Technology, Warangal. Soon to be in its 29th edition this cultural fest has the distinction of being one among the largest cultural fests of South India. With a footfall of around 10,000 and participation of around 600 colleges and increasing this fest has come a long way from its humble inception in 1978. Spring Spree today has an impressive array of events to cater to every possible personality. It covers every possible genre in music, dance, literature, art and gaming. Also an important part of this fest today are the workshops on subjects ranging from ethical hacking to the basics of a guitar. Also this fest has stepped up with time to include the celebs of the day. Some of the prominent personalities who have visited the campus during this very fest are Suraj Jagan, Suchitra, Sobhita Dhulipala, KK, Shobha Naidu, Baiju Dharmajan, Naresh Iyer and Stephen Devassy. The themes of Spring Spree have ranged from Renaissance, Rubaroo India, Carnival, Fantasia and World Fest for the year 2015.
Waves is the annual cultural festival of BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus. It is a three-day-long festival held in the late October – early November period. It is a cultural festival that is held annually to celebrate music, dance and art. It is an inter college festival with students coming in to participate in events and competitions from all over the country.

U Street Music Hall was a dance club and live music venue founded in 2010 and located in the U Street Corridor of Washington, D.C. Artists and DJs booked at U Street Music Hall spanned the spectrum of electronic music, including house, disco, techno, bass and electro. It is often referred to as "U Hall".

Kofi Amoako, known professionally as DJ Vyrusky, is a Ghanaian disc jockey, he was the Commercial Media Manager at EchoHouse, before he becoming a full-time DJ on Starr Drive in 2014. He is currently the 2017 Ghana DJ Awards Best DJ of the Year and Best DJ from the Ghana Music Honors.
MTVU is an American digital cable TV channel owned by the MTV Entertainment Group, a unit of the Paramount Media Networks division of Paramount Global. The channel was first known as VH1 Uno from 2000 to 2004 before changing names when Viacom expanded MTVU programming beyond more than 750 college and university campuses across the United States, as part of internally originated cable systems that are a part of on-campus housing or college closed-circuit television systems to digital cable in all homes. Music videos played on the channel primarily consist of indie rock, pop punk and hip-hop along with limited original programming. MTVU also launched a short-lived campus guide and social media network called Campusdailyguide.com in 2008.
Darlene Jackson, known as DJ Lady D, is an American DJ and writer from Chicago, voted Chicago's Best House Music DJ of 2023 in the Chicago Reader annual poll. Dubbed "Chicago's house music queen" by Chicago Magazine, she is known for her house, techno and disco sets and has appeared in events such as Wanderlust, Noise Pop, Westfest, SXSW and Lollapalooza. EDM.com listed Jackson as one of the "top 10 black artists from Chicago." In 2022, BET.com cited Jackson as a pioneer of the house music movement along with Black DJs like Black Coffee, Vince Lawrence, and Gene Farris. Popsugar validates Jackson as one of "the black women who shaped house music" and Mother Jones references DJ Lady D in a think piece about Beyonce's smash single, "Break My Soul", and acknowledges Jackson, has been "pumping out house music for decades" like artists Chip E. and Black Coffee, according to the article. Jackson was recently elected in June 2023 to the Board of Governors for the Recording Academy Chicago Chapter.
Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin is an American musical comedy television series developed by Megan Amram and Elizabeth Banks based on characters created by Kay Cannon. It is a television series spin-off of the film series Pitch Perfect. The series premiered on Peacock on November 23, 2022. In January 2023, the series was renewed for a second season. In September 2023, Peacock decided not to move forward with the second season due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike and the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike.
