Campus DJ is a college-specific music competition held bi-annually in the United States. Campus DJ invites students currently enrolled in a college or university to participate in its events. [1] [2]

Format & Rules

The Campus DJ format is similar to the NCAA basketball tournament. Top college DJs and music producers compete at events in local college markets, [3] [4] before advancing onto the National Semi-Finals, and then the National Finale. The events reward winning college DJs with cash prizes, gear, and exposure. The tour is also a sister-event to Campus MovieFest and previously also the College Battle of the Bands tours. [5] [6]

Above & Beyond (band) English electronic music group

Above & Beyond are an electronic music group consisting of English DJs Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Finnish DJ Paavo Siljamäki. Formed in 2000, they are the owners of London-based electronic dance music labels Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, and also host a weekly radio show titled Group Therapy Radio. The trio has been consistently ranked among DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs Poll, having placed at No. 6 in 2007, No. 4 in 2008 & 2009, No. 5 in 2010 & 2011, No. 51 in 2018, No. 22 in 2019, No. 19 in 2020 and most recently No. 21 in 2021.

Mood Indigo, affectionately known as MoodI or MI, is the cultural and signature festival of Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. It is usually held towards the end of December every year. Started in 1971 by a group of students, it has attracted considerable media attention and numerous sponsors over time. Mood Indigo is also held in over 2000+ colleges and universities before ending in IIT Bombay.

Radio UTD Radio station in Richardson, Texas

Radio UTD is the student-run, internet-only radio station of the University of Texas at Dallas located in Richardson, TX. Radio UTD streams music twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, with live shows hosted by DJs broadcast Sunday-Friday, 10am-midnight. The station employs seven student managers and is home to roughly 30 student volunteer DJs. Though DJs must be affiliated with UTD as students, staff, or faculty, they can come from any major or department.

Jaz Beach

Jaz is a beach in the Budva Municipality in Montenegro. It is located 2.5 km west of Budva. It consists of two parts, one 850 m long and the other, formerly a nudist beach, 450 m long. It is a pebble beach, with a campground along the greater part of the beach.

Unmaad is the annual cultural festival presented by Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. Conducted over a period of three days, Unmaad includes events like dramatics, music performances, dances, quizzes, debates, street plays, professional concerts and fashion show. The event has hosted performances by artists such as Amit Trivedi, Sunidhi Chauhan, Farhan Akhtar, Raghu Dixit, Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, Zakir Khan, KK, Kailash Kher, Lucky Ali, Strings, Jethro Tull and Indian Ocean.

Marwan Parham Al Awadhi is an Iranian with Emirati citizenship disc jockey, emcee, TV presenter and radio personality working in Dubai. In addition to being actively involved in the nightclub and DJ scene in Dubai, he is known for his music production including co-producing Wyclef Jean and releasing his own single and compilation album The Projects. The album was released on BMGI Middle East and was top 10 on Middle East album chart of Virgin. He is also credited as one of the first Iranian / Emirati DJ to go on world tour. He previously hosted the television show That's Entertainment on Dubai One as well as the radio show The Real Flava on Channel 4 in Dubai. On February 12, 2016 in a milestone achievement, DJ Bliss became the first Iranian / Emirati DJ/Artist to have a number 1 album, 'Made In Dubai' on iTunes.

College Battle of the Bands (CBoB) was a college-specific national battle of the bands competition in the United States that ran from 2009-2012. As of 2010 it was the only nationwide competition of its kind. Initially known as Campus MusicFest, CBoB was originally part of Campus MovieFest (CMF) before becoming a separate entity. Like CMF, CBoB invited students actively enrolled in a college or university to participate in its events. The tour also helped pave the way for the launch of Campus DJ in 2013.

Sunburn is a commercial electronic dance music festival held in India. It took place from 2007 to 2015, in Vagator Goa, India. However in 2016 it was shifted to Pune, Maharashtra. In 2019, the festival returned to its home town in Vagator, Goa. It is Asia's largest music festival. The festival is an amalgamation of music, entertainment, food and shopping. It was ranked by CNN in 2009 as one of the Top 10 Festivals in the world. Mayank Kataria is the major event promoter however the festival was incepted by serial entrepreneur Shailendra Singh,in patnership with Jt MD of Percept. Under his captaincy, the festival grew to be ranked the 3rd largest dance festival in the world, after Tomorrowland and Ultra as per the IMS APAC Business Report 2014. Club Glow is the longest running electronic music event promoter on the East Coast and venue owner based in Washington, DC. Established in 1999, they currently operate venues Echostage and Soundcheck and host numerous large-scale events and music festivals at the DC Armory and RFK Stadium, including Project GLOW and Moonrise Music Festival. Club Glow regularly brings top international talent to Echostage, and in 2021 the venue was voted #1 in the world by DJ Magazine’s "Top 100 Clubs," and has been voted the best electronic music venue in North America since 2017. Club Glow partnered with Live Nation in 2011 to bring electronic music to Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia, Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, and other music venues and events. Club Glow became a subsidiary of Insomniac Events in 2020 and the creative partnership has helped the company expand throughout the East Coast and beyond.

SpringSpree, sometimes written as Spring Spree and popularly known as Spree, is the annual cultural festival of the National Institute of Technology, Warangal. Soon to be in its 29th edition this cultural fest has the distinction of being one among the largest cultural fests of South India. With a footfall of around 10,000 and participation of around 600 colleges and increasing this fest has come a long way from its humble inception in 1978. Spring Spree today has an impressive array of events to cater to every possible personality. It covers every possible genre in music, dance, literature, art and gaming. Also an important part of this fest today are the workshops on subjects ranging from ethical hacking to the basics of a guitar. Also this fest has stepped up with time to include the celebs of the day. Some of the prominent personalities who have visited the campus during this very fest are Suraj Jagan, Suchitra, Sobhita Dhulipala, KK, Shobha Naidu, Baiju Dharmajan, Naresh Iyer and Stephen Devassy. The themes of Spring Spree have ranged from Renaissance, Rubaroo India, Carnival, Fantasia and World Fest for the year 2015.

Waves is the annual cultural festival of BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus. It is a three-day-long festival held in the late October – early November period. It is a cultural festival that is held annually to celebrate music, dance and art. It is an inter college festival with students coming in to participate in events and competitions from across the country.

Christian electronic dance music, also known as CEDM, Christian EDM, Christian Dance Music, CDM, or Christian electronic music is a genre of electronic dance music and Christian music. Its musical styles closely mirrors non-Christian EDM; however, the CEDM culture's lack of drug use and emphasis of positive lyrics distinguish it from non-religious counterparts. EDM.com wrote "the [CEDM] culture can feel quite welcoming." Many different Groups such as Christian Electro Spot, Found Beats, God's DJs, and CEDM Radio have been created to support and foster the CEDM genre. Many live concerts and events have been held in Christian churches in addition to traditional venues such as Lumination, Creation Festival and LifeLight Music Festival. CEDM has also been incorporated into some Christian worship routines.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike Belgian DJ duo

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are a Belgian–Greek DJ duo composed of brothers Dimitri Thivaios and Michael Thivaios. They were ranked No. 1 on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs list in 2015 and 2019, and were ranked No. 2 in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2020.

Thomso (festival)

Thomso is the annual cultural fest of Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Established in 1982, the festival is held over a span of three days at the end of October and the beginning of November. The 2018 edition consisted of over 150+ events and hosted 9000+ guest students from 200 colleges across India, in addition to more than 12,000 students from the hosting institution.

Flula Borg is a German actor, comedian, musician, DJ, and internet personality who is also known simply as Flula or DJ Flula. He lives in Los Angeles. Borg's acting career includes roles in feature films, including notably: Pitch Perfect 2 and The Suicide Squad; as well as in a number of television shows, including Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Good Place. He has made multiple appearances on Conan and has participated in a number of other collaborations with Conan O'Brien.

Kofi Amoako popularly known as DJ Vyrusky is a Ghanaian disc jockey, he was the Commercial Media Manager at EchoHouse, before he becoming a full-time DJ on Starr Drive in 2014. He is currently the 2017 Ghana DJ Awards Best DJ of the Year and Best DJ from the Ghana Music Honors.
