Canasta uruguaya ("Uruguayan Basket") is a 1951 Mexican film. It was written by Luis Alcoriza.
Canasta is a card game of the rummy family of games believed to be a variant of 500 rum. Although many variations exist for two, three, five or six players, it is most commonly played by four in two partnerships with two standard decks of cards. Players attempt to make melds of seven cards of the same rank and "go out" by playing all cards in their hands.

The Campeonato Uruguayo Federal de Básquetbol (CFB) was the top-tier level men's basketball national club competition in Uruguay. It was organized by the Uruguayan Basketball Federation (FUBB). It existed from 1915 to 2003, when it was replaced by the newly formed Liga Uruguaya de Básquetbol (LUB). The worst performing teams of each season of the competition were relegated down to the second-tier level Segunda de Ascenso, which itself was replaced by the Torneo Metropolitano, in 2004.
