Marina Bay Sands is an integrated resort fronting Marina Bay in Singapore, owned by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. The resort includes a 2,561-room hotel, a 120,000-square-metre (1,300,000 sq ft) convention-exhibition centre, the 74,000-square-metre (800,000 sq ft) The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands mall, a museum, a large theatre, "celebrity chef" restaurants, two floating crystal pavilions, art-science exhibits, and the world's largest atrium casino with 500 tables and 1,600 slot machines. The complex includes three towers topped by a connecting 340-metre-long (1,120 ft) SkyPark with a capacity of 3,902 people and a 150 m (490 ft) infinity swimming pool, set on top of the world's largest public cantilevered platform, which overhangs the north tower by 66.5 m (218 ft). The 20-hectare resort was designed by Moshe Safdie architects.
The Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC) is a mixed-use development located along Marina Boulevard and Central Boulevard at the Downtown Core of Singapore. It consists of three office towers, two residential towers and retail space at Marina Bay Link Mall, occupying a 3.55 hectare site.
Singapore competed at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, Italy. Five competitors, all men, took part in three events in three sports. This marked the first and only time Singapore competed at the Olympics as a self-governing colony of the United Kingdom under what would later become the national flag. Tan Howe Liang won the territory's first ever Olympic medal, its only medal until 2008.
Mouma Das is an Indian table tennis player. Born and brought up in Kolkata, West Bengal, she has represented India in international events since the early 2000s. Das has won multiple medals at the Commonwealth Games including a gold in the Women's Team Competition in 2018. She was awarded the Arjuna Award, India's second highest sporting honour in 2013 for her contributions to the sport.
Dorothy Yeats is a Canadian wrestler and Commonwealth Games champion. She won gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. She also wrestled at Vanier College in Montreal, where she is on the school's Wall of Fame. She once said about Vanier College, "I never even considered going anywhere else. I’m glad I came here. I don’t think I could have excelled at my sport anywhere else."
The 2015 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 28th Southeast Asian Games, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event hosted by the city-state of Singapore. It was the fourth time the country hosted the games. Singapore previously also hosted the games in 1973, 1983 and 1993 edition.

Lance Tan Wei Sheng is a former Singaporean track and field athlete and track cyclist who competes internationally for Singapore. Tan is a multiple National Champion and record holder in various disciplines. Tan won the bronze medal at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games and competed in the decathlon at the 2015 South East Asian Games, before successfully switching sport to track cycling, representing Singapore at the 2017 South East Asian Games in 3 events.
Marina Chan is a Singaporean freestyle and butterfly swimmer. Hailing from a prominent swimming family, Chan only took up the sport in her first year of high school. She has represented her country at the FINA World Cup, Asian Games, Asian Swimming Championships, Commonwealth Games, Youth Olympic Games and the Asian Youth Games with her aim win a gold medal at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Athletics competitions at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games were held at the National Stadium, East Coast Park and Kallang Practice Track in Singapore from 6 to 12 June. A total of 46 athletics events are featured at the 28th SEA Games, divided evenly between the sexes. The marathon started and finished in the stadium and had a route in the surrounding area including the East Coast Park, Marina Bay and the Gardens by the Bay.

This was Singapore's first time as host of the ASEAN Para Games.
