Canton of Basse-Terre

The canton of Basse-Terre is an administrative division of Guadeloupe, an overseas department and region of France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Basse-Terre.^[1]

Guadeloupe is an insular region of France located in the Leeward Islands, part of the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean. Other major urban areas include Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Lille and Nice.
