Canton of Bologne

The canton of Bologne is an administrative division of the Haute-Marne department, northeastern France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Bologne. [1]

Haute-Marne is a department in the northeast of France named after the Marne River.

In the administrative divisions of France, the department is one of the three levels of government below the national level, between the administrative regions and the commune. Departments are further subdivided into 334 arrondissements, themselves divided into cantons; the last two have no autonomy, and are used for the organisation of police, fire departments, and sometimes, elections.
